My wish is coming true erase the memory of your face...

Two years ago, I caught the first episode of Glee via CastTV before it had even aired in Australia and I loved it.

It was fresh, using humour and irony to deal with issues from teen pregnancy to homosexuality to broken families, all the while breathing new life into old songs and doing killer versions and mash-ups of new ones.

I found that most people who didn't like it had never seen an episode. They seemed to lump it into the High School Musical tween category without realising that it was a tongue-in-cheek jab at that scene.

But season two has been a huge disappointment. The characters are becoming one-dimensional stereotypes and conforming to all the things that they were fighting against in the first season, while the storylines are cliched and tacky.

That said, I would have gone through it all again just to bask in the glory of the BEST thing to come out of season two - rival glee club, The Warblers. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways:

- Lead singer, Blaine Anderson, is played by major talent/geek Darren Criss (he acts, he sings, he dances, he writes, he produces... A Very Potter Musical/Sequel - need I say more?) and is a breath of fresh air. He is strong, confident and comfortable in himself.

- The Warblers (sans Anderson) are real-life vocal choir The Beelzebubs. I only know them because of my guilty pleasure show, The Sing-Off, whilst traveling the US in 2009. Hosted by Nick Lachey, with Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men and Ben Folds on the judging panel, the show gives a capella groups a chance to showcase their talent. The Bubs took second place but seem to have gone further than the winners!

- Their vast and varied vocals bring an amazing depth to the songs they perform, meaning they sound brilliant with or without a backing track.

- Regardless of the songs they choose, their incredible arrangements make all their renditions absolutely fantastic.

I was ecstatic to hear they'd be releasing their own album and, after tracking it down earlier this week, have had it on repeat for the last two days. Standouts are Candles, Blackbird and Somewhere Only We Know. Eargasm.
