1. Vegas might be quite a trip from Odessa, but this was worth it. Tomorrow Mr. Muggles would get to compete with others from all over the country, and he was quite looking forward to the experience. Sandra could tell. She smiled down at him as he pranced at the end of his leash, taking in the new scenery as they walked down the street. He stopped to sniff the feet of a boy walking the other way. "Hey, there, you, stop that," she scolded, then smiled at the child. He really had some adorable curls. "Hello, sugar."

2. Mr. Muggles picked up a stick and trotted through the park. He'd managed to slip away from the Nice Lady, who was, yeah, nice, but a bit stiffling. "Hey, boy," he heard, and looked up into dark eyes he'd never seen before. He smelled nice, though, so he tilted his head at him. "Wanna play?" The boy reached out a hand. Play? He knew that word, and bounced in excitement. The boy laughed, took the stick, and threw it. Mr. Muggles tore after it.
