I watched Haruhi and I didn't really see what the big deal was. I dunno, I just wasn't too impressed with it. There was nothing that really made me want to watch any more of it for some reason. D:

Oh, you watched all 14 episodes? I know it's not that good if you just watch one or two episodes; it's much better as a whole season. But I understand what you mean. I didn't think it was as great as the hype either, but I definitely found it intriguing and relatively entertaining. I think after the initial "omg it all fits that was so cool" reaction from finishing the show (kinda like a Matrix-y revelation), I've mellowed out and I'm not so much a fan as I am a... curious observer? I want to know what happens next with her crazy reality-shifting powers. ;P

i don't know if you should even start Nana. ^^; the anime only has one season (37 episodes) so far, and they're not going to continue it until the manga is finished, which will probably take awhile. maybe once the anime is completed, i can show it to you. =)

ooh, but first, Vampire Knight will finish in a couple of months, and i definitely think you should watch this series!! it's so gothic romantic! <3! you can start now if you want, there are lots of English-subbed vids on YouTube or Veoh. so far, there are 19 out of 26 episodes. ^_^

so did you watch "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu" yet? i'm surprised you hadn't already because this seemed like right up your alley. in fact, when i was watching it, i thought of you and how you'd probably like it for its randomness and strange metaphysical humor. XD Haruhi kind of reminds me of you for some reason? ^^;

oh, no! i actually spoiled someone on "Nana"?! DX i'm sorry! well, since you asked, no, Ren isn't the bald guy (that's Yasu). >_> and i really recommend this series. it'd be cool if i had a friend to rant with about it. :D
