Hey, it's been awhile, eh? Sorry I haven't been keeping up with LJ lately. =/ I'm doing well. ^^ Actually, Maggie is away on a business trip, so I'm staying by myself for a couple of days. I can't really call it "fun" since it's nothing new, but, you know, it's a different feeling. I remember when I first moved and I had to stay here by myself. *sigh* I was really lonely and depressed until Maggie came. <3 Amazing how quick three years has been! O_O
In fact, this whole past year has been a blur. It's tetsu's birthday again, isn't it? I can't belive it's already been a year since I made my "pretender" tribute vid. Feels like just a few months ago. ^^; Well, since my second YouTube account was suspended, I think I'll re-upload that vid on my first account in honor of tetsu being another year older wiser genkier. :D EDIT: You can watch the updated vid here. I also re-uploaded my other two non-PV tetsu vids.
Meanwhile, I've compiled a list of things I've been meaning to squee about, a list I will now affectionately call the "Geek Sheet." Tonight's topics are: Lego Batman, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Nana, and Ouran High School Host Club. (If you're wondering where the L'arc squee is, it'll come in the next post shortly.) Lego Batman - The video game just came out! It looks so cute and fun! XD I hope it'll be marked down a little by Christmas? *wink wink, Mom, Dad* Right now, I'm childishly giddy over the cheap Lego Batman toy I got from a McDonald's Happy Meal. XD' I had to ask them which toy from the series they had, and I was lucky that it happened to be the one I wanted and not, like, the lame Penguin-boat or something. lol. (You know, when I made my order, they actually asked me if I wanted to be rung up as a boy Happy Meal. 0_o I was like, "Uh, whatever it takes to get the toy?" They probably shouldn't label the Batman toys just for boys and the Wizard of Oz toys just for girls, like the age-old Barbie vs. Hot Wheels package. =P) Anyway, he's so cute, Lego Batman with his over-sized Batarang that he can "throw" (it's more like "drop when you move him" lol). Man, I hadn't had a Happy Meal in like twelve years or something. Really, the small cheeseburger and oily fries were unreasonbly delicious. Must be the extra nostalgia. ; ) And the toy! Batman makes everything better! :D
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Once again, I'm behind on the latest anime trends. =P This show is apparently the most popular show in Japan these past couple of years even though it's only 14 episodes long, it's been two years and there's still no second season, and not to mention it's really crazy and off-putting at first. XD' But once you get past the initial wtf, it becomes a very engaging, funny, and even fascinating show! Imagine if some random hyper-active, controlling high school girl with an obsession for the supernatural had the power to alter reality at whim. What if she were essentially God(dess) of Time and Space... and she had no idea? This is the whimsical premise. ^^ But don't worry, the anime doesn't take itself too seriously with its metaphysical philosophies (*cough*Evangelion*cough*), nor is it one of those pure crack comedies. It's actually based on a smart series of novels, and it makes you think as often as it makes you laugh out loud! =) I heard the second season is coming out soon, and I'll definitely be looking out for it. In the meantime, I'm going to practice the SOS-DANce from what is universally acknowledged as the Most Addictive Anime Ending Ever. So much fun!! :D So, any Haruhiists out there on my f-list? ^_~
Nana - I doubt anyone on my f-list cares, or even knows, about Nana, but WARNING - SPOILERS AHEAD! SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE. (Sorry, I know it's way old. =P) So anyway, Chapter 78 just came out. *flail* Our worst fears have been realized. -_- Ren is dead. T_T Honestly, we all saw it coming. It's been foreshadowed for a pretty long time, and the future scenes make the most sense this way. But still, it's sad. =( A bit surprising, too, since we figured he would die from a drug overdose, not a car accident, but I think a hallucination was implied, so it's technically still drug-related. Adding the paparazzi chase of death was a twist. I do have to agree with some fans who say that the story had been moving too slowly for awhile though. This will finally bridge the gap between the past and the present. *sigh* Even though I totally knew what was going to happen, I still cried reading all the characters' reactions to the news. And we haven't even seen Nana's yet! Next chapter is going to be so saaaad. ;_;
Ouran High School Host Club - The official Funimation trailer is up. It's not very interesting, and it doesn't really tell you much about the story, but it's still yay because the first half of the DVDs comes out this month!! =D So far, I like the Tamaki and Haruhi VAs. Reports from the convention screenings have been positive, too, so that's encouraging! I usually don't like dubs, so I was worried. Especially after I heard their dubbed "Sakura Kiss" opening! (It starts at 0:32.) >< Ugh, not pretty... But I just found a preview of how the dubbed "Shissou" ending will sound, and I really, really like it! Vic Mignogna (Tamaki) adapted the lyrics really well, and his singing the preview sounds awesome! He didn't sing the actual official ending, but I hope it'll sound just as good. =)
