[1]You've handled the hostage situation well. The GGP and BMA were locked in their own struggle and used civilians as pawns. Maybe you remember the way they huddled together, shoulders instinctively drawn up to show they were no threat, the pleas, the sharp scent of fear. Rin certainly does. She approached you and bows, which makes her long, ( Read more... )

Rin's tolerance for fumes was getting better after exposure to ridebacks and teargas. Nevertheless she coughed, hand over her mouth and turning away, before returning to glare at her.

"Innocent people are dead! All you had to do was be patient and not charge in!"

Normally someone like Rebecca would scare the crap out of her, but something burning in her chest had seized her when she saw the news. Her arms trembled.

"You could have hung back and negotiated! You could have used flashbangs...uh...smoke grenades...rubber bullets!" Rin's face was distorted in fury. She wasn't noticing the beauty of her sorroundings as she normally would.

She managed to wrestle herself under control after a few seconds with a visible effort. "You disgust me." She said before turning and walking away. What else could she do?

I didn't know... g...god... I didn't know!!

[If Rin was about to give Mad hell, she would find she was beaten to the punch. The blonde pilot was on her knees and clutching herself tightly - she looked so very ill right now. She didn't know what was going on the moment the first gunshot went off... she just acted when she heard it - then she saw everything after... She let out another broken sob, pressing her head to the cracked and dusty ground... the acrid smell of gunsmoke and the faint hint of blood in the air from the failed rescue.]

Rin was certainly ready to chew her up and spit her out. Coming across the Chalice pilot curled up and without any dignity whatsoever, her anger seemed a little moot. Neither it, nor Mad's grief would bring those people back.

She sat on her heels in front of her. "Well, what did you think was going to happen?" She said, not quite ready to forgive but her fury slaked a bit.

I didn't know! I just heard someone shooting... I..I thought that they were going to start killing the hostages so I had to try save them!!

[Her hands were now on her head.. with how she was pressing herself, a few cuts on her forehead might be expected.]

I fucked it up...g.. god... I just wanted to help... why can't I...

She sighed and offered her hand to Mad.

"Come on, get up. That's not going to help."

At the very least, she (?) was showing remorse. That other woman, with her repellantly flippant attitude, her cigarrettes had made her want to rage, to hit her, to hit herself. This only inspired pity.

"I didn't even know you were nearby." She looked up at her, sheepish for several reasons. The Zeon regent was an intimidating person who carried herself with an aura of command. The sense of omnipotence riding Fuego had given her had faded and she felt like the recent high school graduate she was next to her.

"I'm impressed with the way you handled this. The media at home paints Zeon as brutes but you refrained from attacking the GGP forces even though they're an arm of the Federation. When I return home, i'll make sure the truth about this gets out." Which implied that she was staying with the Chalice. Better for her not to be there when the GGP decided to sniff around to find the Mysterious Rideback Girl.

"Well I can tell you aren't." Not heroes either, but that wasn't what they'd needed at that moment.

"It's...funny that you should mention that. I've always loved the feeling of low and zero gravity." She said, a little embarrassed. Her mother had been the best dancer the colonies had ever produced. But Haman Karn didn't seem the type to care about ballet, spaceborne or not.

No need to be so formal, Ms. Ogata. It was my pleasure.

Rin straightened herself and gave her a bashful smile. This girl seemed to at least be less frosty than the Zeon regent had been. But then, so was dry ice.

"Alright then. I'm afraid I don't know your name..."

Yui Sendou. You'd do well to remember it.

Do well to remember it? well that was odd. She had a feeling like she was talking to some of the yakuza grandma would scare her with stories of.

"I...definitely will. And so will those people."

The Gundam Meister shakes his head. "It was thanks to Miss Sumeragi's Mission Plan that we succeed as we did. We simply followed her instructions." Still, it felt good to help people as he did this day. "Without VEDA, our ability to perform interventions has suffered greatly. It was because you told us about what was happening that we even learned about this."

"My thanks to her then as well. Those people owe their lives to you guys."

This person looks sad in the same way Okakura sometimes does in his more unguarded moments, she thinks.

"I will pass the message along." Setsuna was always somewhat depressed at most times. The world was in dire-straights after Second Impact, and people just wanted to keep fighting. Who wouldn't be depressed by that? "Rin Ogata. You are a pilot as well, correct?"

She nods. "I suppose I am now. I don't know how good of one i'll be." But already nicknamed Mysterious Rideback Girl by the local press, there's no way the GGP won't come after her now. This is actually the safest place for her. "I hope to be at least a bit helpful though."
