Hee! Great chapter, nice twist on the whole Willow/Xander debacle, it will be interesting to see how exactly that ends up playing out.

I'm especially eager to see/know more of how Angel is taking all this, we've only gotten snippets of him the last couple chapters even though his character is always kind of there taking up space. If that makes any sense. ^^

Yes, I'm glad Angel's omnipresence comes through!

I always think of that photo of CK and J. Ackles with the cases of Heinekin from some freebee. Heh heh heh.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I really understand Xander's point of view. You summed it up perfectly here, "You knew what you were getting. I thought I was getting a quarterback."

Xander didn't want Angel to become a cop because he thought he wouldn't be able to handle it. Except he saw that Angel was miserable, and wanted him to be happy. And now it's supposed to be a surprise that Xander can't handle it?

Xander has a protective streak about Angel that's 5 miles wide. That's how they got together, and that's been their pattern. But now Angel is doing something where Xander can't protect him; he's got to trust Angel to protect himself, and he clearly doesn't.

Exactly right. And, I see it that Xander makes many small mistakes along the way, whereas Angel's caution makes him generally do the right thing. But, Xander knows his own weaknesses, whereas when Angel makes a mistake, he makes huge ones, with consquences that reverberate for a long time.

Gotta chime in here and say that this, in a nutshell, is why this cracked-out AU works so incredibly well - for all the delicious and clever reinterpretations of canon, this is such a wonderfully on-target encapsulation of the characters. You know them so well and see them so clearly that you can do anything with the "facts" of the story and still have them be them. I don't comment nearly as much as I should on S-Curve, but it makes me grin and do a little chair-dance whenever I see that you've updated.

You're makin' me dizzy, with all the swapping people around. And I totally think the baby should be named Alia.

I realized just now that one of the things I love most about this story is that Buffy hardly ever shows up in it.

She's off being dramatic and Oh! the wrongness! with Spike.
