PS3 - lesson learned (re: save file bloat) . . .

Oct 24, 2013 12:30

Thanks for the helpful suggestions on ways to cope with the save-file-bloat on the PS3 (from my earlier rant).  After much experimentation and careful observation, I've come to the conclusion that the whole problem has to do with - your carry capacity versus the actual weight of what you're carrying.  Traveling light seems to help a LOT.  I can ( Read more... )

Wow, Bethesda sure does a great job on their beta testing. Not.

But stamina affects your bow aim time also. :-(

Maybe just keep the number of sets of armour to one or get the Steed Stone? And/or relevant light-or-heavy-armour perk for not being encumbered?

Your idea would work great, until you go into a dungeon and try to loot bandit bodies, or Falmer . . . .

I know. I just might try a bare-minimum loot run-through for the craic, though :-P

Well, it was basically doing that by experiment that led to this post. My problem is, because I'd already upped the stamina to around 200, I have trouble stopping with just grabbing the gold or recovered arrows. I see something useful, and I'm not yet overweight, and I automatically think I could make some good coin reselling that and before I know it, I'm running heavy again. For me, I'm better off just not spending any Level-up bonuses on stamina.

Maybe it's your actual system?
Not to be the doubting Thomas, but i'm playing a level 70 on my ps3 and I don't have any lag problems until I've been playing for several hours (meaning 3+). I'm also at a carrying capacity of 700lbs and I drag a lot of crap around with me where-ever, when-ever. glitchy loading is only a problem for me when I fast travel to a large city, or when the weather is extreme.
I noticed the dragonborn content is laggier than the rest of the game, but I've always thought it had to do with however much processing power it takes to create the waves on the shores of solstheim.

My system? I sure hope not, I've already had to replace it once, because the graphics failed in the first one.

I tend to have 10+ hour gaming sessions. Being disabled and almost (not quite) house-bound, there isn't much else to occupy my time with, unless I want to be a complete vegetable viewing Netflix all day.

I haven't started the Dragonborn stuff yet. I'm going to do one more character (after I finish off what I'm doing now with Ruby) - to do the other side of the Dawnguard missions. I'm thinking a young, ditzy blond Imperial named Buffy . . . .
