I want to be non-dimensional, too! *joins Danae*

And I think sacred cow-tipping should be an Olympic sport. People could gather in peace from around the entire world and tip sacred cows. Brilliant.

I guess I've been fortunate that my entire history has been at one church, which has not had trouble with 'doctrinal' type squabbles, or even problems with traditions changing or whatever. (I think there was at the beginning, since it went from a hymn-singing, 'traditional' type format to a modern-music format. But I came in with the new, so I don't know what all happened with that.)

I think the key to a lot of these problems is 1) knowing what the Bible says and what the context is and 2) keeping the important issues in mind.

If we really believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the only way to salvation, and that people are eternally lost without Him, does it really matter what style of music is used in a service, or what people wear?

Sacred Cow Tipping - I love it! I tend to feel that way in any organization I join, which is probably why I have ended up not being much of a joiner. Anyway, on some level I know what you mean, as I often find myself feeling not straight-laced enough for my conservative friends, and practically fascist to my liberal friends. Heh.

This constantly makes me feel at odds with my own bunch of friends and church people. I'm not straight-laced enough for them, while being way out of step with most people nowadays.

Yup. That's exactly how I feel most time. Like you, though, I'd rather stick it out and make change from the inside. Still, it's tough. I might borrow your phrase, should the need arise, because it's brilliant. :)
