More WSOP stuff

I decided not to play today's $1500 NL (even though it's probably the highest-ROI tournament during the whole series). I wasn't sure yesterday whether I wanted to play it, so I didn't register, and there's no way I'm going through yet another lineup to play a $1500 NLHE event. So I'm just hanging out at home for now ( Read more... )

does the 1500 really have a higher roi than the main event? seems like the awful vs awesome structure would be a pretty significant factor even if the players are better in the main event (are they really?)

I'm not sure. I'm still inclined to think the $1500 has the most casual/weak players, but if it's not that one, it's certainly the ME. Keep in mind there are people who enter the $1500 because it's on a weekend, only a 3-day event (and only then if you make the final table), whereas to play the ME you're potentially committing to a number of days. But I dunno.

You can rent a car with a debit card, and you can't rent a movie from blockbuster? Idiots.

maybe if you changed your name to johnny, put on 50 lbs and wore some hideously awful/expensive shirt they'd let you cut in line like the other big shots

Yeah, there was a lot of line-cutting due to favouritism. Yay.

I wanted to play the 1500 NLHE event so badly but I did not want to wait in that line at all. It was pure chaos! So I decided to play some satelites to keep myself busy. Check this, on friday night, I waited 2 hours to be seated at a one table satelite and then it took another hour for them to start dealing out the cards - it was just an unlucky situation because that was the time they were trying to improvise on the situation. Had I known it would take that long, I would've just waited in line for the 1500 registration.

"patience" in poker is one thing but I totally lost it. *sigh* Ok, no more complaining.
