More WSOP stuff

I decided not to play today's $1500 NL (even though it's probably the highest-ROI tournament during the whole series). I wasn't sure yesterday whether I wanted to play it, so I didn't register, and there's no way I'm going through yet another lineup to play a $1500 NLHE event. So I'm just hanging out at home for now.

The hottest topics thus far in this year's young WSOP are all covered in various places on my LJ friends list. The one most people are talking about, the cards, was mentioned in this post from evwhore, who isn't even here yet to witness them in person.

If I were scottro, my post of the day award would go to rcfox's profanity-laden VoicePost talking about the incredible absurdity of the registration line. It's amazing what a disaster this is. If you can believe this, until 9 AM yesterday morning, they had a total of one (1) cashier working on WSOP registrations.

sabyl is chip leader after Day 1 of yesterday's $5k mixed event. 116 players remain. Go Sabyl!

jnala mentioned that WSOP Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack was introduced during today's opening proceedings and got a solid round of boos. He then apparently proceeded to explain that they could not get new decks of cards here in time for today's event.

In non-WSOP news, I was pissed off because I went to Blockbuster yesterday and could not sign up there because I only have a debit card Visa. A debit card that has enough balance to buy every video in the store, but apparently that's not good enough.

poker, casino stupidity
