Pre-Christmas whining...

*sigh* I was so hopeful that I would have something to post by the end of this month, but as everyone who has met me in person knows, I'm easily distracted. If I had stuck with one story, I'd have something to post. Instead, chap 5 of OWS grabbed me when I was weak and I'm halfway through both that chapter and the hockey story first chapter ( ( Read more... )

Congratulations on passing your tests. You must be so stressed, but in the end you're doing great.

I just had to delurk to congratulate you. I remember going to both school and working full time and it was not fun.

Thanks for the congrats! I can use all of the support that I can get with these things. It definitely has been frustrating to set aside the things I love to get through all of these classes and tests. Let's hope I actually get something good out of all of this!

I figured you were busy and that was why I hadn't seen the update come through. Emotional rollercoaster over here of a different kind - found out on Thursday that my great grandfather was on his way out. Kidney failure, etc. Friday was my aunt's college graduation in Georgia (which I couldn't attend). Found out great uncle was in the hospital and doing poorly. Saturday rolls around and Mom tells me when I get out of the shower that grandma (in Georgia for aunt's graduation) was in the cardiac ward in Athens because her heart was doing acrobatics PLUS having a gall bladder attack. Sunday morning was her gall bladder surgery, and when she got out (and we arrived in another city to go Christmas shopping) we get the phone call that my great grandfather had died. Now, the great uncle is out of the hospital too, but says he just wants to join Joe (my cousin who died when I was in high school, his son). He's tired. My grandmother is out of the hospital too and should be home on time on the 27th. Yesterday, my friend who has been in the ( ... )

Also, GREAT JOB ON TESTS! You'll do fine on the next one. Don't worry so much. You've got it all down and you'll get it done no problem. Have faith. :) Sometimes I think the worse we feel we did, the better we did.

Y'know, that's what a couple people told me, but I'm not accustomed to that sort of thing. I usually have a pretty good sense of how I did. The difference is that I knew how I did on an absolute value, but who knows how many I guessed correctly and how much damage the curve did. I probably did just get lucky. ;)

But now I have to focus on the coming tests, and somehow convince myself to study harder, even when I have this nagging thought that, hey, I failed the last one and still pass, so why study so hard? ;)

Wow what a month. But the end is near, girl. Only one more month richt? I'm mean it is going to be over with that test on the 28th or not?

But what are you going to do - I mean you mentioned that you probably wont't work for this company by the end of this year?

How was your test yesterday? Crossed my fingers for you.

Pahah that vid was great! Love those guys. How I met your mother is on tv now in Germany too. Such a funny serie. Do you watch it?

Oh yes, I'm almost there!... Assuming I actually pass my last two tests. From here, I need to start applying a little more aggressively to some CPA firms. It's the last thing I wanted to do, but that's what happens in life, I suppose. Hopefully it'll all work out for the better ( ... )

You are working so hard for this but it is not what you want to do in the end? I deeply hope that you will be happy with it in the end. At least to the point where you can enjoy your life besides work.

Yeah the whole concept of the show was what captured me too. Although I don't really like the "main" character Ted :P Barney is so much more fun :D

Actually I think that is what makes life interesting and why we should live it through. (uuuhh how philosophical)

Honestly, I don't have many passions in life, so one job would be the same as another. Maybe I'll get lucky and find something that matches my personality and vague ambitions in life, but I've been disappointed so many times that it's hard to get my hopes up. Count your blessings that you found a career path that you can attack with your love of creating images and stories. I'll be satisfied if this path supports me while I continue to have my fun writing ( ... )

*pops head out of hole*

Oh DUDE. *steadies your seesaw*

At least you passed both tests! Those are things you can officially check-off your to-do list.

*hugs*

Hang in there! Fanfiction can ALWAYS wait.

*pout* I know that fanfic can wait, but man, how I miss writing it! I think about stories every night as I'm going to sleep and I keep hoping that I'll remember those bits when I finally do get back to writing. And the crazy thing is that I'm thinking about doing some writing before my next test. It's not until Feb 28th, so I have a couple of weeks before I need to slam the practice exams again. Now, if only I didn't have 10hrs of overtime (aka 50hrs of work) and 15hrs of class/homework each week...

But what about you?? Last I saw, you were having health problems again. So much for the sunshine cure, I guess. Have you been able to figure out what the problem is with fats and the like?

littlemissgriff January 19 2011, 17:03:04 UTC
Well, the sunshine cure thankfully DID cure my SAD, so that's one reoccurring health problem I don't have. The doctors down here move sloooooow as chriiiiiiistmas, so I'm glad I've got plenty of time to do nothing because, well, that's all I can do. Luckily, they have me at an allergist who doesn't seem to care I don't have allergies and has made it his personal crusade to check anything and everything he possibly can before he sends me back to the GP I'm seeing with all the results.

So, hey, doctor who cares, total plus. I should have this figured out... eventually. XD

Also, I'm super excited to see what little fictastic ideas are bouncing around your head, so screw what I said about fanfiction waiting. IMPRESS ME NOW, WOMAN! *bounces*

*laugh* I actually know plenty of people who are busier/crazier than I am, but yes, it's been hard to find free time in the last few months. Lately, we're doing overtime at work, so it's 50hrs/wk at work along with 8hrs of class and another 8hrs of homework/studying... The weird thing is that I feel like I have extra time this week to slack off. My next test isn't until Feb 28th, so I'm not studying every freaking night for an exam. It's such a relief, especially with the amount of overtime I'm putting in these days. ^^;

I love 'Dexter', and this is coming from a person who isn't easily impressed by most shows out there. After four seasons, I'm still enthralled by the characters and the series, and no other series has done the same for me. (And just so you know, it's your fault this got long. This is what happens when people ask about the things I truly adore out there ( ... )
