OK. Welcome to On a Whole New Journey!
It’s been a long time since I first played Pokemon, but fairly recently, with Diamond and Pearl, I started again. Liked it, got addicted to it, got my friends addicted to it (and then they got un-addicted and then re-addicted...), the whole nine yards. This inevitably led me to search online for Pokemon fics, and boy, let me tell you, it is not a fandom I ever planned to look into again.
Then, one day, I found a Pokemon fic that interested me a lot, and I had been talking with my friends about how to improve upon the fics that existed and what to do better. Hell, this wasn’t even about the fics. The anime, the games, all of it.
So here’s my attempt at Pokemon fanfiction. It is AU, with Satoshi / Red as the main character. This fic assumes no previous knowledge of Pokemon, so names, people, cities, and Pokemon will all be described. Sorry if this drives you away, but it helps people (and me) immerse in the world.
The fic, if you hadn’t already noticed, also takes its roots from Japanese and English, game and anime. People names will be in Japanese. Pokemon and town names will be in English. This is done because, frankly, I like Japanese names better, but I don’t expect people to know all 400+ Pokemon names in Japanese. Hell, this is an English fic. The fic will be mostly based off events in the anime in the beginning with spices from Pokemon Yellow. However, more Pokemon will be captured and encountered, and the story of the Pokemon world will be explored more, as well as a few popular theories (I have one in particular in mind, actually).
A sequel is already planned for this fic, but ... honestly, I have a bad habit of never finishing things. We’ll see how this turns out. As you can probably guess, the sequel will be based off Gold/Silver (or rather, Heart Gold and Soul Silver. That game is AWESOME).
Oh, and one more thing. I like being an unreliable narrator. And I probably won’t answer very many questions you have. Yes, I can be evil when I want to be.
