Pokemon fic: Chapter 001
Chapter one of the Pokemon fic, which I wrote right after I finished the prologue. I think the chapters to this fic are going to be fairly short...
On the Start of a Whole New Journey
Chapter 001 ~ Off to a Great Start
A loud flurry of sheets and blankets, and Satoshi sat straight up in his bed with a scowl on his face. He blinked blearily as his alarm clock let off round two of its incessant wailing. Reaching over, he slammed the off button on the damnable thing.
Ah, finally. Peace and quiet.
“Satoshi! Are you up yet?”
Never mind.
With a groan, the boy rolled over and crawled out of bed, brown eyes still only half-open and black hair tussled every which way. A yawn, and his hand slowly moved to the chair where his clothes lay hanging.
“Satoshi? You’re already late, you know! You should hurry up before Professor Ookido gets mad on your big day!”
Satoshi snorted as he tried to find his way through his black T-shirt. Yeah, right. Ookido couldn’t get mad at a Charizard if it burned his lab down…
Wait. Late?!
With a sudden burst of energy, Satoshi pulled his shirt overhead (“Hah! take that, you stupid shirt!”) and looked back at his Bulbasaur alarm clock, and the blazing red numbers glared back mockingly from within the little plant lizard’s mouth.
Later that day, Haruka would learn from her neighbors that her son’s scream of despair could be heard from across town.
Satoshi practically flew down the stairs, somehow miraculously remaining uninjured despite the fact that he was trying to hop into his jeans in the process with a cap in his mouth.
“Hey Mom!” Ah, cap out of mouth, finally onto head. Hope there weren’t any teeth marks. “Bye Mom!”
It was with those four words and a dead-out run the moment he stepped out his door that Satoshi started his Pokemon journey.
