FFVIII wasn't on my favorite characters meme, despite the fact that I love Laguna a whole lot. (He's actually currently beating out Edgar for #2 FF character of all time.) I didn't want to list every FF game ever, hehehe. But...uh, I ramble a lot on why I like Laguna here? This page specifically. If you want obsessive Laguna fangirling.

I will never understand why Zelda is viewed as a damsel in distress. It always seems like the heroine that has the most inner strength is viewed as the weaker when it should be the exact opposite. If she doesn't wield a gun and kick ass (regardless of the fact that she weighs 90 pounds), then she must be a DID. In the real world, most girls scream like ninnies at the sight of a spider. Women really need to get a grip on what real strength is or something.

I fall right off for the dashing rogue / he's a ridiculous pimp king and womanizer.
Two of the greatest fictional men archetypes ever. Edgar and Locke are awesome. I wonder how they managed to have such a diverse cast in FF6, but every other FF after that has this sort of stock character thing going on.

Exactly. Giving a woman a gun doesn't make her a strong female, especially if she's already an oversexed bimbo. It just makes her a girl with a gun. Zelda isn't a strong fighter, persay, but she's an incredibly strong person. (Although, she does kick all kinds of ass in SSBM.) The videogame industry and its portrayal of women in general make me sad.

Yes, they totally are! I looove Edgar and Locke. Ahaha, no surprise, but I do think they belong to my favorite archetypes. I always like the party's token womanizer. FF6 has one of my favorite game casts- I have a lot of love for Setzer, Terra, Celes, and Cyan too. But I do kind of wish they had put more into the development of major characters than adding Umaro and Gogo and the like. (I think, of every character in the game, only Locke got as much time as he deserved. Although, I could always use more Locke.) But I bet with a revised translation, we'll get to see even more depth to these characters...woo FFVIa!

Yeah, Sabin has the longest story, Edgar has by far the shortest. I think the Locke/Celes one is my favorite though. Sabin is one of the characters in the game I dislike...everything he does only highlights how Edgar is his superior in every way.

But see, go go FFVI! I'm happy you are playing it, it warms the fires in my fangirlish heart.

Yeah, I can't wait too. I saw a picture of him, and they do have the same glasses! This alone makes me excited. I'll have to bug Emma about uploading more, or are you guys going to do it together?

Yeah, my next post will have all the rest of the answers. I didn't mean to make it so hard...I don't even like Wuthering Heights that much, but I do have a favorite character to the max. St John WAS in Jane Eyre, he's just an example of the characters I randomly like a lot but no one else does. (He's not boring! Not exactly likable or human, but I find him really fascinating.)

And yeah, you do :P Hopefully this post makes it seem entertaining.
