Shameless helping of cloying sentimentality

My friend Kathy is always sending me viral email stuff like this. Seldom does it make me start sobbing. Pitiful.

Why do I suddenly have "Born Free" in my head?:)

Because the Whitney Houston music wasn't loud enough. ;)

Actually, it was George Adamson (sp?), the "Born Free" guy, who rehabbed Christian to be a wild lion again...that's him coming down the hillside after the guys have had their reunion.

Oh, very cool. Haven't watched Born Free since Elementary School probably. I remember liking it, but the period costumes still make me giggle a little. Then again, looking at my old yearbooks does the same thing.

We may pass things off as sappy or whatever, but the truth is that expressing how much something has touched you is never pitiful. I read about this couple and their lion. It's a beautiful story. It takes a real man to show his tenderness. Don't ever downplay that (even if I'm hella guilty of doing it to myself)

Yeah...the best part of my day EVERY DAY that I get home from work is when my Boxer boy comes running at me like he thought he'd never see me again. It always makes me feel like the luckiest guy...I'll bet these guys felt the same way, it was so cool.
