Omg, that was awesome... I swear I literally tried to drag out the reading time so I could enjoy it for longer. I'm more than a little bit addicted to your L&S series. I think highlights of this chapter were seeing little Keyd and some of those things that made him who he is, but at the same time you give us these little teaser bits about Alan's past life.
And OMG, Alan has entities... wah. yeah, I was not expecting that. At all. Now I am filled with questions about who is compatible to these entities... And also, I love you. Really. From a safe distance so you don't get scared, but I really, really do.
Stuff from this chapter will be coming up through the rest of the book, so we'll definitely learn more about what Keyd saw and some more about Alan's past via that. :) Also in the rewrites I'm getting some more of that in there, because there actually isn't a ton about Alan's background in the series.
Haha, yeah, another one of those tiny plot twists I seem to like to do with this series. :) This will also be brought up through the rest of the book, hopefully most of your questions will get answered!
"Keyd nodded, gripping at me again. I leant into him and wrapped my arms around his back. He really did feel too hot; it even came through his clothes like the thick heat of a furnace. Our bond throbbed where my chest was pressed to his, but I ignored it. He was right; he couldn't get sick, and it probably was just from being overworked. I wouldn't worry unless it got worse

SO GOOD. I love the end! I love that Alan and Keyd finally get to take a breather, even if it only lasts for 5 minutes :) Lovely chapter, at any rate. About Keyd killing Lehr, I was wondering: did he have to kill him because someone found out Lehr was gay, and it was like some ritual execution fight-to-the-death sort of thing? Because that's kind of what it seemed like.
Derrrrp I feel really silly that I didn't put together that you're TC! Well, I do really love your reviews because they have so much substance, and I also like when people point out what specific parts of the writing they really like or what's really working, besides just a blanketing statement that they like all of it. Anyway I'm going to reply to some of your review here, because I can. :3

Well it's definitely a relief to hear that you like my ridiculously long and rambling reviews! xD I'd always get nervous that they were too long or just bleh.
Man I will have to wait with baited breath for the answers then!

There will definitely be more conversation about exactly what happened with Lehr, but you're on the right track.
