Thank you for the reassurance - yesterday and last night was an emotional rollercoaster, and that preview just hit me right in the jewels when I was in a very fragile state. It upsets me that I don't even get to watch the next episode until ... God knows when. Maybe not even until Tuesday. :( Oh well, that's the lifestyle, innit... that's what made me stop being able to watch the X-Files (I never considered it to be a bad show, and I was never not into it - I just got really busy on Sunday nights, and that's in the days before they had reruns or On Demand or anything. I missed four episodes in a row, and gave up, knowing that I'd never catch up with the craziness.)
I hate to admit it, but I think BSG may have jumped the shark with that boxing episode. At this point, it's looking like the X-files. (the truth is out there, but we don't know what it is) Maybe the cylons have a plan, and maybe the humans are going someplece, but just like the first incarnation, these writers don't have a clue.
Maybe Firefly had it right: get canceled while the fans still want more. better that than a death of a thousand banalities.
Oh, I really don't think that's true at all. I thought that episode was just fine - less superlative than some past episodes, but still a thousand times better than anything else on TV. And I wouldn't talk about the writers that way - I have faith that they do have a clue. What the explanation is will undoubtedly be completely unsatisfying to a lot of people, but they do know what they're doing

I was all set to meet your challenge, and lay out a detailed re-working of the BSG story that comes to a satisfying climax at the end of season 4... but then I realized that this is not something I want to be right about. I would prefer to be mistaken, I sincerely hope this upcoming season fails to suck.
It's not as if my fannish devotion, or lack therof, is going to affect the show's quality. If I'm only a lukewarm seahawks fan, does that mean the seahawks are going to not play as well?
Yeah, unfortunately my fannish devotion requires me to ask the pointed questions... sorry, it's just my thing. I hope that your wishes come true, because I really do love it.

The one I saw had the only thing, in my opinion, in terms of the story and awesomeness of BSG in general, WORSE than killing off our Baltar.

It's really hard to be a spoiler-free Heroes fan right now, because there are just so many spoilers in every single interview everywhere and I am dying. But I will be good. And I will be good for those folks who have just gotten into BSG and don't know about a whole lot of stuff that happens yet.
Maybe it was even the same one, but when I saw the scene in question, I averted my eyes and commenced the weeping, wailing, gnashing of teeth, If you go to www.scifi.com and look at the Scifi Pluse featured videos, it's the non-Lee/Anastasia/shippy one.
