Oh, I really don't think that's true at all. I thought that episode was just fine - less superlative than some past episodes, but still a thousand times better than anything else on TV. And I wouldn't talk about the writers that way - I have faith that they do have a clue. What the explanation is will undoubtedly be completely unsatisfying to a lot of people, but they do know what they're doing.
I'm not sure where you're getting all this shark-jumping talk from. I think that's a little uncalled for. It's a shame that so many BSG fans are so eager to jump ship; I'm just not seeing any justification for that. Seriously. None. The show I fell in love with is still there in every single way. I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I'm still down with the BSG.
Here's a question for you - What would you do differently? How would you have the next ten episodes set up, and the next season set up, in a way that's satisfying to you? Please, explain and elaborate. I am genuinely interested in seeing what you'd do if you had the power to control where the storyline went.
I was all set to meet your challenge, and lay out a detailed re-working of the BSG story that comes to a satisfying climax at the end of season 4... but then I realized that this is not something I want to be right about. I would prefer to be mistaken, I sincerely hope this upcoming season fails to suck.
It's not as if my fannish devotion, or lack therof, is going to affect the show's quality. If I'm only a lukewarm seahawks fan, does that mean the seahawks are going to not play as well?
