When I was re-doing my kitchen and bathroom I got a fridge that had an ice maker. I love my icemaker but I have had problems with it several times. During the holidays I noticed that it wasn't making ice but opted to wait to call the repair guy. It was a totally wrong move because last night right before bedtime, my kitchen got flooded. The ice maker is broken and has to be replaced, we are now waiting for the part to come in. The good news is that he was in and out in 10 minutes (this time). I'm sure it will take longer when he actually replaces the ice maker.

Not too bad, it was what I call "an average repair price". (Which is between $100-$250)

We have to wait for the part but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I originally thought that besides the ice maker a pipe had sprung a leak, but it is just the ice maker.

Oh ugh! Ice makers are wonderful when they're working, but when something goes wrong.... Sorry. What a lousy way to start the new year.

Yes! I love the convenience of an ice maker but they can be a pain. This time the ice maker has to be replaced. I'm going to replace it but the next time I have a problem with the ice maker, I'm going to go back to the ice trays.
