FarmVille, YoVille, and FishVille, plus Bejeweled Blitz and D&D Tiny Adventures... yeah, I feel your pain ;)

Five games? How do you manage? Do you do all of them each day? Do you limit your time? Or do you have a job that lets you access Facebook during the day?

I mostly don't bother with FarmVille much any more--just stop by to harvest animals and trees, mostly--and D&D and Bejeweled are ones you can play only when you want to, and don't have to be regularly checked. FishVille and FarmVille can be simplified by choosing things that take a long time to grow, so they don't have to be checked but every four days or so.

YoVille is new for me, but I may drop it soon... it's even worse than FarmVille about trying to get you to spend real money to play.

Yeah, I started doing that. I plant 3 or 4 day crops. That helps.

So glad to har about Cutiepie, and that the kitteh equilibrium has returned in your household.

What I've come to realize about the FB games is that they *all* seem be designed for those who have computer access at will. If you work a M-F, 40 hour week and don't have free computer social access during your work day, you will never get ahead with them, and with some games, no matter what you do, you will 'fail' unless you give them actual money, not virtual money. As long as they are all designed this way, I play for a while and then let them go, because I can't 'earn' stuff unless I stay up until 2 a.m., or stay home all day on the weekends, etc. And I refuse to 'friend' a bunch of total strangers just to get more help. They aren't interested in games for ordinary people, they only want to cater to hard core gamers or those who will pay them actual cash. Pisses me off.

Yeah, I refuse to pester my friends to join these thing. I like Farmtown but unless I get more neighbors, I can't expand my farm unless I give them money. Ain't gonna happen.

They are designed to make you *want* more things and then they offer them to you for money. I don't like that at all.

Poor Cutiepie! I hope she hangs in there.

I get sucked into new Facebook games too...for about two or three weeks. Then I realize that all I'm doing is trying to keep up, and it's time to give them up. They're Evil!

Hooray for White Collar, and I definitly agree with you about Castle and The Mentalist.

Glad your kitties are doing okay. (LOL! I was going to make a comment about them keeping out of the cold when I remembered you are not HERE where it is cold. Duh.)

I have several new friends who are all on Facebook, ang I've been debating joining up. Partially to keep in touch, partially for all these games they keep talking about. But I KNOW I will get hooked on the games and there will go ANY of my free time. I already am hours behind on my DVR, I don't need another time sink. And yet they sound fun.... LOL

They are designed to be totally addicting. All I can say is BEWARE!

BTW, are you thinking about going to Vancouver this April?

Sorry I haven't responded to your question about Vancouver. I was waiting until after the holidays to think about it further.

I still don't really know. I always said I'd go to a Creation con if Joe and David would both be there--but they're on different days! Since I have no interest in the set tours, there hardly seems to be a reason to make the expensive and time-consuming trip clear up to Vancouver for this con.

I've even been thinking about going up to see more of the city. I know you were interested in some vacation time there. But, I'll be honest, I think I've seen enough of the area. I seriously can't think of another thing I'm interested in seeing there. Huh, I think I may just have talked myself out of it.

I know winter_elf (my roomie at LAX) was VERY interested in going, and she would possibly stay after to do some sightseeing. She's a good roomie, if you were interested in company.

wtf? Joe and David are on different days? That's a terrible plan! Those two got along, didn't they? I see where they are offering pics with Joe and Michael. That really should be Joe and David. Is this the first Creation where they've had both Joe and David?

You are right on on many of your points. I want to go, but I shouldn't spend the money. I don't care about set visits with SGU. Perhaps I'll get to see MS at LA again, and if I'm lucky Joe and David, too. I really should tell Bonnie 'no.' I'll think about for another couple of days, but I'll probably say no.

Vancouver is a lovely place simply to enjoy. Maybe some other day....

Thanks for getting back to me. It's like talking to my 'adult' side. *g*
