Has anyone else seen the new Barnes & Noble Shakespeare editions? Does anyone else wonder why the covers have been designed to look like posters in a Wild West saloon? Am confused

Sounds a lot like me. But this was my latest epiphany: some people really latch on to the triva aspect of academia, which makes for good conversations, but others (me, for example) are more manipulators of ideas, which happens best on paper, with lots of books at hand to verify facts. They're both valuable ways of dealing with the stuff, the latter just not being very useful at cocktail parties...
Thanks! I'm definitely better--opinionated, even--on paper than in conversation, especially these days. What's weird is that there is one person in the department I *can* express opinions to without trouble (there used to be two, but one has since escaped and gotten a job), so I seem to have the potential for articulateness, but in most situations it doesn't work.
I am a bit concerned about what this all means for my oral exam in (assuming I ever get my act together) April...
