On the way back from Breckenridge last Friday (went skiing again, 17 runs, w00t) I started watching road signs. And a fundamental question occurred to me, most vital to further life as we know it:

Why is it that the deer from the deer warning sign get to be inherently in motion, but the elk and mountain sheep are standing still? For some reason, ( Read more... )

Yay Guillotine! We shall have to play some time soon.

For D&D, Wednesday still works best for me. I could maybe pull Tuesday or Thursday, but Wednesday I'd actually have some free time.

hmmm, perhaps it's because most likely than not when you encounter a deer it's leaping into the road and therefore causing a roadblock whereas elk are more likely to just be standing there? That's at least the trend I noticed on my long road trips anyway.

on the topic of road signs, apparently Mint from the game Animal Crossing: City Folk says I was born under the sign of Yield. hmmm. :P BTW if you ever manage to get a Wii and that game you HAVE to let me know!!!

*strokes non-existent beard contemplatively* Yes, yes... that seems quite logical! I've never actually seen an elk in the road, but I much like this explanation! It is now the offical one.

...I need a Wii. I'll have to scout around my friends and see if any of them have Animal Crossing. I've heard so many good things about it!
