Quick check in post - lost power from about 11ish (I can't remember, I've slept since then) until around 6:00 (I know, it came back on while the storm was still pounding us - go figure), so I went to bed. Just got up. Getting all the various checks done and so far, the only problem in my life is that the cable's out and the cell phone towers are ( Read more... )

YAY! :-)

My day also was not too bad. There were no thunderstorms - it didn't even rain very hard! There was one peek of sunshine that lasted about two minutes, lol.

(and lots of good beer)

It's looking more and more, too, like there were very few deaths.

We won't know for certain until we hear back from the S&R folks working Galveston, Bolivar and all the rest of that area.

We didn't get all that much (that's for Houston values of "all that much" ;-). But the wind. Oh, man the *WIND*. It was heaven. I ended up blowing out the candles at one point and just sitting in the darkness to listen to it. Simply beautiful.
