My First Taste of Alcohol (nasty!)

[ALCOHOL:] So, at dinner tonight, I finally got my first taste of alcohol. The first thing I tried was wine (because I've been wanting to know what it tastes like for a long time). My waitress was really nice and she let me try two of the wines without having to buy anything. One of them was her recommendation (a rasiler? reesling?) and the other ( Read more... )

LOL, alcohol is definitely an acquired taste. I hated it the first couple of times I tried it, but eventually I found drinks I liked and it grew on me. (sex on the beach, amaretto sours, and purple nurples are all amazing, to name a few.)

xD Yeah, you think? *laughs a little* I don't think I'm going to get that far with it though. I was just curious as to how it tasted. I'm actually relieved that I don't like it. ^___^ I didn't want to like it. I was afraid I'd want to drink it all the time if I did and become an alcoholic. O.o

So, I don't really intend to ever have any again. (Thanks for the suggestions, though, I'll keep them in mind if I ever find myself drinking again- though, I probably won't.) X3

I can't stand the smell of red wine. Even expensive red wine, I'm not talking about your five dollar swill. My mum often has red wine when we eat out, and just the one glass sitting next to me is enough to make me want to hurl.

Also, I can't stand the taste of any alcohol either. I suspect it's an acquired taste, and as a t-totallist, I never acquired it. Even ciders and champagnes, which are quite sweet, taste bad to me. It's just the basic taste of acohol itself, I suppose, that puts me off.

Also, I'm a bit surprised you've never tasted alcohol before this! Not that that's a bad thing, but pretty much everyone I know tasted it when they were kids, or at least by the time they entered teenage.

xD! Really? I don't know what red wine smells like but if it's anything like white wine, I understand your pain. Before I took a sip from it, I took a nice big wiff of it and... GAG. UGH. DISGUSTING. :D

It probably is an acquired taste (like energy drinks- I love those!). However, like you, I'll never know because I don't intend to ever drink enough to acquire it (I actually get really upset if people talk to me about being drunk / if they are drunk- reminds me of my mum). And same here. Alcohol is a very strong and distinct flavor- I really don't like it. xD

Ah, well, I'm a VERY sheltered child. I barely ever left / leave the house and my Grandparents don't drink. Also? I never wanted to drink so even if I had the opportunity, I never took it. ^___^ I'm like the only person I know who waited until they were of drinking age to try it.

No, no. First ever at age twenty-one. XD That's the legal drinking age here! :D

Yeah, and no, that's not gonna happen. I do not intend to get drunk. Nor do I intend to have alcohol again for a long time. :3 I'd rather stay alcohol free, thanks. This family has a generation of addictive personalities and I'd rather not risk it. I just wanted to try it and see what it tasted like since I was finally legal. <3
