I really liked writing the dream bits, mostly because I was kicking myself for not writing the first bit from Mikey's POV and I really wanted to write some of the scenes from both perspectives, and hey, look, opportunity! Maybe at some point I'll rewrite the whole first section from his POV, but that's another 10k right there.
I AM SO HORRIBLE TO RAY IN THIS UGH. He just wants everyone to be okay :c And for Mikey not to be traumatized :c :c And maybe some cuddly vanilla sex that won't cause any terrible flashbacks :c :c :c

I LOVED TRYING TO WORK OUT THE STRUCTURE OF THIS WHOLE THING. I have all of the feelings about structure and word usage and stylistic things like that--not just when I write, but in what I read. BUT I GET KIND OF PRETENTIOUS ABOUT IT SOMETIMES I HOPE THAT DOESN'T BOTHER ANYONE.
RAY IS THE SQUISHIE ALWAYS. I feel like I didn't give Frank enough screentime in this fic at all, which is weird because I love the fuck out of him. BUT THAT'S OKAY BECAUSE I THINK SOMEONE IS WRITING A THING IN THIS UNIVERSE ABOUT FRANK. AND HIS HANDS.
I am horrible to everyone. :D
MOSTLY I JUST LIKED PLAYING WITH THE INTERLUDES IN EACH SECTION. I like parallel structure so I kept the same basic format for each part (regular narrative interspersed with an alternate narrative) but I wanted unique interludes for each person. I don't really know how well that came across, but it was fun to work with.
I NEED MORE KILLJOYS ICONS. People are going to think this is my only icon in my arsenal.
Um. I continue to be mad. Except for the part just before Gerard subdues Mikey in which Mikey betrays him. That part made me cry for a minute.
