I really liked writing the dream bits, mostly because I was kicking myself for not writing the first bit from Mikey's POV and I really wanted to write some of the scenes from both perspectives, and hey, look, opportunity! Maybe at some point I'll rewrite the whole first section from his POV, but that's another 10k right there.

I LOVED TRYING TO WORK OUT THE STRUCTURE OF THIS WHOLE THING. I have all of the feelings about structure and word usage and stylistic things like that--not just when I write, but in what I read. BUT I GET KIND OF PRETENTIOUS ABOUT IT SOMETIMES I HOPE THAT DOESN'T BOTHER ANYONE.
RAY IS THE SQUISHIE ALWAYS. I feel like I didn't give Frank enough screentime in this fic at all, which is weird because I love the fuck out of him. BUT THAT'S OKAY BECAUSE I THINK SOMEONE IS WRITING A THING IN THIS UNIVERSE ABOUT FRANK. AND HIS HANDS.

MOSTLY I JUST LIKED PLAYING WITH THE INTERLUDES IN EACH SECTION. I like parallel structure so I kept the same basic format for each part (regular narrative interspersed with an alternate narrative) but I wanted unique interludes for each person. I don't really know how well that came across, but it was fun to work with.
I NEED MORE KILLJOYS ICONS. People are going to think this is my only icon in my arsenal.
IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE I TEND TO JUST TALK AND TALK AND TALK (for 20k words) so I'm surprised I didn't just PULL OUT ANOTHER 5K ABOUT FRANK. Because that's what I do. "Oh hey I'm going to write a quick silly thing about marching bands!" = DEPRESSING RYAN ROSS CHARACTER STUDY. God that's still funny.
I could totally write a Frank POV coda. but I don't know what would happen. THAT'S THE THING, I CAN WRITE FOREVER? BUT ONLY WHEN I HAVE SOMETHING TO START WITH. Starting is the hardest. After that it's like WHEEEE WORDS.
