I'd rather be famous than righteous

I was watching Beyblade earlier, and was actually enthralled by the show for the first time in a long time. I tend to share the public's general lack of regard for V-Force, but it has its moments, and today I saw one of them ( Read more... )

Did I ever! I was practically swooning, in a very Bronte-esque fashion. I've watched that episode three times now over the past two days, and it's definitely up there as one of my favourites of the season - tied with Kai's battle against Gouki. I love those boys!

*dies* You. Deserve. To be shot.

I now have a physical need to watch this episode, especially since the only thing keeping me interested last week (i.e. when I began watching V-Force again) was how Rei was going to recover Driger. Easily the most interesting part of the whole thing. I should really be in bed now, but nooo, I need to watch the episodes I recorded yesterday... *mutters in a geriatric fashion ( ... )

You. Deserve. To be shot.

*grins* But wasn't it worth it to stay up and watch?

Yeah, it sucks, but the original series wasn't exactly all that!

The thing that put me off V-Force, though, was the supporting cast. I liked all the teams in the first season (except the Dark Bladers, but I generally pretend they don't exist), but I can't say the same for this one. Team Psykick are a bad Biovolt ripoff, and the Saint Shields just annoy me.

Actually, quick Saint Shields rant. They say that their mission is to seal away the Bladebreaker's bitbeasts, and in the recent episode where Ozuma battles Takao, he has a flashback to when their tribe leader told him how their ancestors had sealed away all the world's bitbeasts except for the "Sacred Four" belonging to the Bladebreakers. So did they just happen to overlook the White Tigers, All Starz, Majestics, Demolition Boys and *sigh* Dark Bladers? Have these people been living with their heads under a rock or something?

Now, I don't expect too much in the way of plot consistency from ( ... )

*laughs* Don't worry, that was just my subtle attempt at sarcasm! Just a joke between akai_laputa, ishshi and myself, in relation to some annoying Kai/Takao fans we came across who insist that the pairing is completely canon and that the creators of Beyblade have stated Kai/Takao to be an official shounen-ai pairing in G-Revolution.

This, of course, for an anime created to sell spinning tops to ten-year-old boys. ¬__¬ I think I'll reserve my right to snerk mercilessly.
