I was watching Beyblade earlier, and was actually enthralled by the show for the first time in a long time. I tend to share the public's general lack of regard for V-Force, but it has its moments, and today I saw one of them.
So far in V-Force, I've been impressed by very little. The whole Kai and Yuya storyline, the interaction between Rei and Selima, and a couple of other things. In fact I've become quite apathetic in regards to the whole fandom, including my own writing. I've just been sort of hanging on, waiting for G-Rev.
Today, however, I was practically on the edge of my seat watching Kai and Rei (sans bitbeast) battling against two of the Saint Shields (Dunga and the one that looks like Kiki, whose name I can't remember). It's times like this I remember just why I adore Rei so much as a character. To battle against a powerful opponent without his bitbeast, in order to protect a teammate from having his bitbeast stolen, shows incredible guts and loyalty. Even though he knew the likelihood was that his blade would be completely destroyed, he still kept going. To paraphrase: "I've got nothing left to lose, so I might as well give it all I have". And the return of Driger was - breaking free of the seal in order to save Rei - was gorgeous! *___*
*coughs* And of course my inner Kai/Rei fangirl was jumping up and down squeaking, but that's another matter altogether. ^^;
After watching that, I now want to write about Rei - and I even have an Idea looming in the back of my head. >__<
Must...resist...temptation. Must...write...essay! Arrgh!
