Thank you! I'll try to live up to my words. It's so hard to take initial steps or commit to a plan of action where I have to buy a thing or learn to use new tech. But I believe I can do it.
Happy to take recommendations. Have you found that a Yeti mic is good for solo spoken word? There are all these details about "condensing mic" vs. "dynamic" and analog vs. digital, and some setups where you have to buy a mixer as well. I'm paralyzed by the fear I'll make a bad choice. I don't want to buy something where I also have to buy another device I don't know how to use and will have to learn... eek.
I've been hearing more and more recommendations for the Hamilton musical from people whose opinion I trust lately. I should give it a go. Perhaps this afternoon while I'm cleaning.
Oh, Audacity is fine. I tried using that with another laptop a couple of years ago, and it seemed intuitive enough.
Welp, you've given me a good idea of what a Yeti would be most useful for, and I've taken the plunge and bought one. It should be here tomorrow. Thank you! I'll update you as I learn how to use it best.
Happy birthday! I could write you a poem. Or flash, if you would like. I am not sure I can promise full-length fiction on command right now, but request away.
Let me think about that for a yes please oh my word that would be great.
Thanks for the songs! This is great, exactly what I was hoping for--I've never heard of Anna & Elizabeth till now. I like "Little Black Train" and "Greenwood Sidey" already so that's an automatic in with me. I'm very much in the mood for both gospel and old-timey.
I'd like it to be about decay full of life, in some way--like rotting leaves with worms crawling up through them, compost with things living in it, dead paper erupting in mushrooms. Not those specific things necessarily, but something like that.

I have recently been enjoying Anna & Elizabeth: "Little Black Train, "Lovin' Babe," "Greenwood Sidey," "Very Day I'm Gone (Rambling Woman)," and "Ida Red" especially. I don't know why I find the latter completely charming, but I do.

All right! What would you like it about?

I'm so glad! I got them from awhyzip, who heard "Father Neptune" on the radio and thought I needed to hear it, too.
