bit of earth

I'm so happy right now. I just went outside, put fertilizer on the rosebushes, cleaned the leaves and dead plants out of five small garden beds, weeded, and turned the earth with a trowel. And then I planted. As with most big endeavors, most of the work is in the preparation. I love getting my hands in the dirt when it's in aid of something I enjoy ( Read more... )

Let the record show that this was the day I planted Swiss chard, lettuce, and spinach seeds, and also planted three rosemary sprigs and a lavender plant that struggled and fainted but made it through the winter indoors in a pot. It's such a hero.

yay cool gardening!

I would love a lemon tree, but I fear that my cats would also love it more than the lemon tree would appreciate. But good luck at finding them homes!

Are you still looking for people to give lemon trees to? Alice would probably want one, though she's renting currently so I don't know if she can give one a good long term home. But maybe at her parents' house.
