Well, that's that.  I'm as graduated as a cylinder.  Photos to follow.  My parents were there on both days, and they gave me a bouquet of pink roses and snapdragons. negothick  came for the weekend, and I was very glad she was there.  She gave me a big bundle of excellent books.  More on this later.

I'm at my parents' house, as I've just attended Angel, ( Read more... )

Aww! I'll do my best there, too, though it doesn't come naturally. See you soon!

Thanks! I am a bit pale and interesting this evening, but it was worth it.

Congratulations! I noticed the mourning doves too--the first few times they flew over, I thought they might be small hawks, only to realize, each time, that no, they were mourning doves.

I really liked the procession of flags, and I got a kick out of Cady Colman's hair IN SPACE.

A cute thing from the Saturday events: one guy, when he was receiving his diploma, held up his iPhone, which he had programmed to read "I love this place"--which we could all see on the big screen.

We sat behind a mom and her nine-month-old (the baby's dad was graduating), and the baby was the cutest thing. When the cheering stopped, she'd pipe up with claps and yays to try to get it started again.

You were there? Oh man, I never even saw you! I saw the tall one in passing when we all marched in, though, and we waved to each other. How cool that you got pictures of our astronaut speaker in space!

I liked the guy who was making woo-face and pumping his fists in the air when the camera settled on him, and he looked up and realized that his woo-face was on the big screen and kept celebrating even harder.

Well, there were tens of thousands of people there, so I guess in that sense it's not surprising that we didn't see each other. But yay, graduation!

There were so many people that there could have been fifty Elvis impersonators in the crowd and I wouldn't have met any.

Yes, a good bit like that in shape. The feel is different only because the outfits I saw were all made in heavy-duty tapestry fabric with the pattern woven into it, whereas that's a relatively lightweight and light-patterned floral print. But that same basic thing of a fitted top with sort of a forties nipped-in waist over a fitted skirt. The "Camille", eh? I admire that look.
