Technically I'm still on vacation.  I have internet for the day, though.  Time enough for a brief jolt of fannishness.

That sounds good to me. All right, my mind's made up--I'll do it. I'm going to check out the rules and try and make up my mind how much effort I can put into a good story for Yuletide.

You may wish to take note that every Friday in October, it seems that TCM is running Hammer Horrors. I will be trying to watch several of these. I just wish the channel still let you record off it.

That sounds fabulous. I'll try and watch some of those. It sucks that you can't record them, though. Why would they even do that? I getteth not the idea.

Your icon reminds me--I envied you for seeing the original format of Metropolis on the big screen. Not jealous anymore, seeing as the local arthouse cinema is playing it here in October! I've been meaning to rent it as I've never even seen it in truncated form, but now I think I'll just wait and see it for the first time in the theater.

It's copy-protection, but I fail to see the point of copy-protecting films that exist on neither VHS nor DVD. You're much more likely to find a market among people who've been passing around third-generation bootlegged copies of films they love: when any kind of print becomes available, they'll jump at it.

I think that sounds like an excellent plan.
