Yesterday was good. Little Big Brother Alastair and bestie!Steph and I went to London to see Strictly Come Dancing live -- which was good, but it wasn't just that that made it a good day. I could tell my friend was getting bored because she doesn't know anything about Dragons' Den, but I have inexplicable love for that show and Peter and Duncan's adorable little rivalry made me really gleeful. You should have seen Duncan dance, it was ridiculous. And Peter is a giant! It made the knees-bent technique in the tango he had to do look a bit stupid, but still. He has size 14 feet, for crying out loud!

Mm, people who smell good.

Ramprakash was lovely. He did that salsa and even though it was Kristina Rihanoff and not Fabulous HBIC Karen Hardy partnering him, it was still a sight to behold. I didn't think I liked him that much, but yep, he & Austin (slightly-scouse rugby legend! I know you're feeling (lol) the hot rugby players at the moment, too) were my favourites.

live band's version of that Hairspray classic (now also a 'This was in my panto!' favourite of mine) was, um, crap

Is it the same band as on the TV show? Because, lawd, I've always thought the singers are fucking awful.

Yep, though a different band leader (I wanted Dave Arch and his sparkly ties, dammit!) Normally, I agree, the singers are the weak link in the chain -- though yesterday, they were mostly bearable and only occasionally teeth-grittingly bad.

But it was the band who made You Can't Stop the Beat sound like a hot mess. I was not impressed.
