this is what the magical record/journal/book is for. print out, compute and grow rich! writing poetry is another popular way of getting into the habits of debugging behavior--writing and reading the self. in renaissance occult systems memorizing correspondences (israel regardie calls 'em a "spiritual filing cabinet" for cross-referencing experiences) and cabalistic/alchemical acronyms (ararita, vitriol, etc. considered here as maps of ritual altered consciousness arcs) and cryptography methods (magic squares) and angel telephone books and stuff according to some theories (frances yates) are part of a vast "art of memory" using post-lullian logic architectures (giordano bruno for example) in a crazy brain-hacking project to "control the phantasms" which involves a total theory (that needs to be debugged ( ... )

afterthought: i'm reminded of reading John Dee's records of angel conversations. he's constantly asking them if the coast is clear, if this or that magic book is a good one, if he's got the names right and stuff. it's all about ritual purity, whatever level of code one is hacking.
