A really charming little ditty about SAS, at least 90% of which is probably false...

This article literally makes me sick. The purpose of reading that story was to see how polite people who look the other way from homosexuality and say "i just don't want to see it" are just as bad as the people who come right out and condone it. The story was not taught for the sake of gratituity. REally and truly, it's not even pornographic, just graphic. All this does is prove that Ms. Horne knew what she was talking about all along.

WHAT FUCKING ASSHOLES! I truly hope that Nazro doesn't pull NDS next year. You worked so hard, it makes me so upset to see ingnorant biggots like that try and force the school into doing as they wish. It's blackmail! Tolerance means tolerance of other races, other religions, AND other sexualities. And tolerance and understanding is what Christianity is all about. And if these McNairs were any kind of Christians at all, they would understand that.

... 'charming' is a nice way of putting it. Good grief.
I hope SAS won't ever let bullying, intolerant people like that dictate what happens at school.
Responses like that were one of the main reasons she had us read Brokeback Mountain in the first place - so everyone would be forced to examine their reaction, and ask themselves why they reacted that way.
Ok, my mood is spoiled now, and I need to fix it in the next thirty minutes, before class starts.

Oh the joys of controversey. They wouldn't put up a fuss if it was a hetero book, naw of course not. And goodness forbid that the Day of Silence should be held to show support and have people feel like they have a safe place. Talk about a misleding headline too Episcopal High School Promotes Gay Sex Book
Parents threaten to withhold $3 million if book not pulled My first thought was "okay, if they have that book the joy of gay sex in there I can understand parents getting angry..." but no, it's a story that is really good and it's just these two people not a whole group of parents. Sheesh. And people's responses to this on the message board sure isn't improving my faith in humanity or the Christian faith. No wonder I left it. *big hugs to Liz* Sometimes christian high school stink.
