My Christmas knitting list keeps getting bigger and bigger. For some strange reason I am finding it hard to cast on. I'd perfected the technique over the past 12mths and now, for some reason, my brain decided to let go of that piece of important information. I think it was replaced with something to do with puppy training. Not very useful when you ( Read more... )

Good point! Alas, all of the yarn is DK or worsted. It ranges from alpaca to synthetic/natural blends (hats for kids under 4 - gotta be able to throw them in the washer).

You can always double the yarn to get a chunkier gauge.

I thought you were joking about the casting on! I find the videos on http://www.knittinghelp.com to be invaluable.

Meh.

It's a virus called the "christmas insanity" list.

I was going to learn to knit socks this year. Knit socks for everyone! I am a known crack smoker.

I still have a baby blanket to get off my loom. I think the baby just turned one. *wince*

LOL! I feel your pain on the socks. The pair I need to get done are for my mother. I have one done and one to go! There is no option other than to get them done and she will be here for Christmas and knows I am knitting them (she picked the yarn while we were there in July).
