Yes, they so should. It's set in the early 60's so I don't think condoms were considered de rigeur for m/m sex (you only have to read the sex scene to see how it 'worked' back then).

And since I live in a country that was founded on a sheep's back *ahem* - those kind of jokes still exist (although we tend to make them about New Zealanders, the other land of sheep and LOTR *hee*. And since Brokeback apparently does involve sheep herding in isolated places, I couldn't help myself - no matter how naughty some may think it is <):) (I almost forgot my cowboy emoticon). *luvs you back*
