Who needs that guy in the suit, anyway?

Yes, it is only the ninth, but apparently today is CHRISTMAS. I got mail this afternoon--the St. Nicholas Day stocking from my mom. Every year she gets us an ornament to put on the tree (which makes a total of something like 109 ornaments among my siblings), and this year mine is Bob Cratchit from Mickey's Christmas Carol, which is possibly my ( Read more... )

". . . and this year mine is Bob Cratchit from Mickey's Christmas Carol, which is possibly my favorite of the Christmas Carol adaptations. Ever."

As though the annual ornament weren't precious enough, (squee!) Mickey's Christmas Carol!! I used to watch that every year with my father and occassionally still do on its original VHS. That's just one more reason why you are awesome, in my book. I'm glad you have some wonderful early Christmas things to enjoy! :)

Lol! We have it on a Betamax tape, actually, taped off of TV. A couple of years ago Dad started porting all of our old videos to DVD, and that was one of the first things he converted! :D

The song at the start, the "Joy to the children far and near..." one, is kind of one of my favorite Christmas carols, too. Even though I think it's specific only to Mickey's Christmas Carol. :)

Recorded on tape is sweet. ^.~ That's how I had my only copy of Cinderella, Lady and the Tramp, and some Disney valentine special cartoon marathon.

And so that's what they're singing during the end song. I'm usually tearing up by the time that Scrooge is rocking Tiny Tim on his lap and the women start to sing to make out the words. I always picked it up around "Merry merry Christmas!," the first time around, though. :) I say that that definitely counts as a carol.

You shouldn't feel badly about it either. I know a few people that try to sing that Welcome Christmas song from the How the Grinch Stole Christmas 60's cartoon special, myself included, aaaaaand maybe a couple songs (if not carols) from that muppet christmas one. >>

You sing to your heart's content! :)

FROM DISNEY WITH LOVE. HOLY CRAP. I totally forgot that existed until you mentioned it, but yep! We had that on tape too! And Disney's Halloween Treat, even though I generally left the room during the "Night on Bald Mountain" segment. Man, that creeped me out.

I saw clips of Mickey's Christmas Carol at Disney! And I'm very tempted to make a Chronicles of Humanity adaption for a machinima contest ;)

Also, you made me want a stocking full of unhealthy things too! ;)
