Okay, you know what, Reds brass? Fuck you. That's right, all of you. First you traded Griffey, which...okay. He never really did live up to the hype, he was made of mostly glass, and you could tell he was getting tired of being on a losing team.

But Dunn? Adam Dunn was classy in a way Griffey never was. He signed autographs. He was good to his young ( Read more... )

*stands and applauds* Dunn was everything Griffey was to the team and significantly more, AND he could play the goddamn game. No, he was no Babe Ruth, and yes, he was certainly one of those players who either struck out clean or knocked the ball into the River. But at least he had a batting average to speak of, and WTF since when was he a shitty fielder? NOTHING about his performance in the field was ever what I would class as shitty (and CERTAINLY no more so than some of the other clowns who mill around out in the outfield picking their noses). That's exactly how I feel. Dunn and Casey and Larkin before them, they were the soul of the team, fan favorites and I think team favorites, too. (By the way, I almost cried when we played the Red Sox and the Reds crowd gave Casey a standing ovation when he came up to the plate.)

If we can't win games, I'd at least like to see familiar faces having fun with the game. Dunn was a guy that I really enjoyed watching, win or lose, and it's a damn shame to see him go.
