Duuuude. You have GOTTA watch more Fringe!!! It's squicky at first but then stops later on when it gets really into the mythology stuff. And Olivia Dunham is one of the greatest female characters EVER! Persevere!

Oh noes! Lol, well what ep are you on? Maybe it will help you if you just look away at the nasty bits? Idk, I just think you'd love Olivia so much if you just ignore the stand-alone ickyness. :)

i haven't really gotten past my fear of pregnancy-related ickiness... i didn't even finish the 2nd ep (but i watched the third instead). i'm usually not easily scared - i mean that pregnacy thing wasn't even that graphic... idk. maybe the other stuff won't be as bad.

You should definitely give Fringe a go, as it gets amazingly good close to the end of the first season, and the second is even better. I get creeped out by a lot of that stuff too, so what I did was kind of scan the wiki/imdb ep summaries and picked out which ones looked more mytharc than gross case of the week, you know? But it's definitely worth it. :)

yeah, i really want to watch the show - but i don't wanna get spoiled either :/ i think i'll just wait a bit and then try to watch some more. i'm usually not that easily creeped out - i'm just gonna call pregnancy related ickyness my 'anti kink' or something.

eeeh, THAT MAP IS SO AMAZING!

& heh, those poor people - they probably get half a heartattack every time someone doesn't answer the door at all. i don't get it.

Yeah... I understand where you're coming from re: Fringe it took me... I think two years before I gave it another go. This time I completely ignored the second episode (that was the ep that made me stop watching in the first place) and you know... it actually works even without it. It's better without it actually. It doesn't even affect the continuity in the long run.

I think the second episode was the worse in the whole series but after that it doesn't get to that level of creepybadwrong. But if you like I could give you a guide to the arc which is less creepy and more alternate universes, abilities and Olivia kick ass features!

aw, HI :)

yes, the second episode really made me back off this show. twice already (probably because i forgot what happened after the first time *g*). i have watched the third episode, but i've sort of forgot about the show again, so ... yay, i would absolutely LOVE some recs! i still feel like i could grow to love this show (and olivia) a lot; some episode recs would therefore be very welcome ;)

HI! :D

Whenever I rec the show I always insist they skip the second episode. The second episode doesn't really fit the tone of the show at all. I don't know what they were thinking putting that in the second episode.

Also, I should note that Fringe really got good during the second half of season 2. It took a while for their sea legs to grow.

The first season is divided into arcs and most of the arcs/episodes bleed into each other and this is the best I could figure how this arcs are divided into:

John Scott Arc:

1x06 - The Cure (Good episode, slight 'eww' scale at the start but significantly less after that. Important for Olivia's backstory.)
1x09 - The Dreamscape
1x13 - The Transformation (The last John Scott episode.)

The Mytharc(This is also divided into the Observer and Cortexiphan arcs but... since the two arcs inform the other I decided to put the episodes here ( ... )
