Because vampires are so cold, they can't feel cold. Stephenie Meyer made some comment saying that in Midnight Sun when Edward goes to Denali he comments on how the snow doesn't melt when he puts his hand in it. So, cold doesn't really bother them at all. Warmth is different, because of the difference in temperature between them, where as in the cold, there isn't much of a difference. I hope that makes some sense.
