Eat your heart out James Bond - (ota)

Getting out information to headquarters was more difficult than expected, even for someone who had plenty of experience doing it. This organization was so tightly knit Wade had began to fear he wouldn't be able to get out any information at all...but that of course was unnecessary, and he made his annual reports on time, keeping his cover.

Sarah enjoyed sunrises. There was something poetic about them. She wasn't rightly sure what it was or why she liked them, but she regularly woke up and slunk outside just in time to watch them.

More often than not, she wasn't alone. There were a lot of people who started their work out around the 5am mark, but most of them waited until 6, so there were never too many people around. But rarely did she see anyone just lying around.

She recognised him as she wandered slowly over -the soldier, Wade. She sort of liked him, as well as she could genuinely like anyone really. He wasn't short with her, he didn't seem to lose his temper all that quickly. It was something new for most around there -they were mostly a bunch of dicks.

"What're you doing? Basking like a cat?" She stood just a few steps away, not crowding, not getting too close. But she was mildly curious.

He should have heard Sarah coming. You know, super sensitive hearing and being an assassin and all that crap. But he had been tired and dazed off into his own little world. It happened from time to time, but Wade tried to remain focused.

Except for this moment he'd obviously messed up.

Stiffening for only a moment, Wade relaxed when he realized it was only Sarah. He pushed himself from the ground, back onto his rear, and folded his arms to his lap. "I was going for snake, but I guess a cat could work better, being the larger predator and all." He said easily, a smile coming to his face.

Giving a shrug, Sarah plopped herself on the ground, crossing her legs and shaking her head. "Snakes are slinky and slithery, cats are predatory and powerful -big cats anyway. Like panthers and leopards. Maybe a tiger." She gave a grin at that.

She could feel mild apprehension, but that was probably just because she caught him a little off guard -which was strange, for Wade, and she dismissed it. "You seem a little tired." And that was more than just her empathy telling her that. "It might be the super early mornings that do it.

Can't working out wait an extra hour?"

Wade relaxed, falling back into his normal facade when he could sense that she wasn't lingering on the awkward situation. Whew. It would have sucked to try and lie to Sarah, well, moreso than he was already lying to everyone else. But even with a silver tongue that came with his job Wade didn't like lying, it never led to good things. And this job? Well, given his position, a stack of lies was the last thing he needed.

"Predatory and powerful sounds awesome. No one likes slinky and slithery either, so yeah, lets go with cat." He watched her plop down to his level, his smile becoming more genuine. "I am a little tired. And, I think it is the super early mornings that do that."

Scratching the back of his head, Wade shrugged sheepishly. "Sarah, that's too much common sense at once. I don't know if I can handle it."

A shadow crosses over Wade and if he's smart he'll probably pay attention. She'd watched the whole farce and was eternally curious as to why someone would be leaving a restricted area at 5 A.M. especially when such a restricted area dealt with most of the internal affairs.

After shifting out of her guise of a soldier and into her true form she lets him know she's there. "That's an interesting morning habit if I ever saw one." She isn't going to out-right accuse him, but if he proceeded to slip up, far be it for her to hold any form of consequences at bay.

After all, if he were doing something untoward then he'd be fucking with the job of the Mutant Right Enforcers as a whole, and if there's one thing Mystique can't stand? It's people messing with Mutant Rights and superiority, a hand-wave to her days back with Magneto.

Letting his guard down long enough to slump into the grass had been a mistake. He should have known better. He should have kept going until he was safely undercover. Tensing instinctively, the assassin pushed himself quickly back onto his feet, pulling over a calm demeanor.

Falling into a smirk, Wade brushed some of the dirt from his pants before adjusting so he was standing to his full height again. "Clearly you've never been to boot camp."

He could sense her apprehension. It was possible he'd ruined his cover, but Wade wouldn't let onto that. Not one bit.

"You'd be surprised where I've been." Such places include the room he just excited, but Mystique was devious enough to get an all-access security key rather than scuttling through the vents like some common rat.

"So what is it you're interested in? I mean you obviously didn't want to check on the accounts." Oh yes, she can be incredibly unsubtle when she so chooses. Something about having just left the X-Men renders her a tad more socially liberal.

Like a rat he may have crawled, but at least no one would be looking for a missing key, or finding it on his person. Her comment only made him chuckle. "Probably not. Given your circumstance it isn't hard to figure out that you've gone where you wanted. And everyone knows that when you can, you go where you shouldn't."

Ah yes, straight forward of course. Dead cold and to the point. Sorry Mystique, you'll get nothing out of him. "I'm sorry?"
