Mission: Team 4 - Omega Chamber [Open to Logan, Pyro, Kurt, and Omega Red]

[[Don't care what the posting order is! Just go!]]Talk about bad personal timing for a mission. Allison wrapped the parachute around and around itself, stuffing it in the backpack as quickly as she could. It was left near the clearing where the pick-up would be later, so if the people back at the base who dealt with the equipment felt like ( Read more... )

Even if he didn't have serious personal mess ups -other than potentially screwed up memories- Pyro would've loved to not be on this mission. At all. Ever.

His last one had been a colossal screw up. And now he'd just parachuted to the ground. Really, he was not loving this. Even if he had better trust in team mates this time around -since he didn't think any of them wanted him dead it was a good start.

He was still being petulant and quiet. Which was weird. But he just sort of dragged his feet along, waiting for whatever Logan told them they needed to do next.

Kurt would have been excited. This was exciting! Serious, too, of course--but exciting! They were out of the base, they were on a mission, they were stalking a dangerous mutant. It was like an action story.

Only, usually in action stories everyone wasn't in a bad mood. Oh, they were all wearing their 'This is Very Serious' mission faces (not that Kurt thought Logan had another face) but he knew Saint John well enough to tell that he was uncomfortable and he knew Alli well enough to tell that she was in a mood. Logan he didn't know at all but he thought that as their group leader, perhaps Alli should not be arguing with him--or vice versa. Of course he hadn't spoken up, but had been very glad when they got to a point where they could focus on the mission instead of each other.

He nodded to Alli's question even though it was offered to Logan and leaned into Saint John's shoulder for just a moment, giving him a quick flash of a smile.

"You better be ready," Logan replied to Allison, but in spite of his words, he wasn't nearly as annoyed by her as he had been before. With both his feet back on solid ground, he might've felt positively benevolent, except that they had a job to do here. Until that was done, nothing else mattered.

Logan looked around his troops. Allison wouldn't have been his pick. Pyro, he didn't know that well, and Logan hoped the kid could hold his own in a fight. As for the last person - well... Logan didn't know what to make of him at all. So far, Kurt seemed more suited to host a children's show than to go into battle. Still, this was what Logan had to work with... and this would have to do. They could do it. With a bit of luck.

He sighed. OK, maybe a lot of luck.

"OK, here's what we do. We go in fast, and we go in silent. Anyone standing in our way won't be standing for long. You gotta do it, do it clean. And quiet." It was a coincidence that his eyes rested on Allison at that moment. Honestly ( ... )

Allison rolled her eyes when Logan eyeballed her as the one to be quiet. Hadn't they worked together on their last mission? Hadn't she done her shit the way she needed to? She bit back the overwhelming desire to tell him to get fucked, then took off after him, jogging lightly.

The lab was about a mile off, and it was rumored to have guards positioned in the forest outside. She kept herself as alert as she could as her mind wandered. It was probably a bad idea that she was on a mission at all, but she was trying hard not to let it effect her performance on the team. She'd come to this team to make some kind of difference (though, what being trapped inside a compound in Russia was really accomplishing she'd yet to see) and she was determined to make it work.

With or without Manuel.

She focused ahead of her, keeping behind Logan as best she could with Pyro and Kurt close behind.

Omega Chamber [for whenever the team is ready!] the_omega_red February 6 2010, 22:12:40 UTC
He waited. There was a certain calm in the air now, despite the sparks crackling from the broken equipment surrounding him. Each flash lit the chamber for a brief second, like small bits of lightning, and garbled voices could be heard dimly over the static of the radio. When the chaos had first begun, the soldiers and scientists had been attempting to subdue him. As soon as they were distracted, though, they failed.

Bits and pieces of the men who had been soldiers surrounded him and dangled from the ceiling and the jagged pieces of metal and glass that lay around him from his chamber. His tentacles had retracted and he walked through the wreckage, pacing like a lion. He was waiting for more to come to their deaths.

There would always be more.

His gaze shifted to the door and he stared at it, ire filling him. They had made him into a far superior killing machine and now they would suffer for their foolishness. He felt no ire towards their experiments, no. He just wanted to kill.

Allison followed behind Logan, dropping her bag and coat at the entrance to the building, quickly untying her boots and kicking them off, depositing her tags into one of them. With a quick bout of focus, she shifted forms, no longer giving a shit who saw her. She was getting a feeling of eerie calm within the laboratory, and the fact that they hadn't been attacked once didn't speak well.

Or maybe it did, if the other teams had done their jobs properly.

She spotted the door the needed to go through, the Cyrillic reading "Omega Chamber". "Here," Allison said in a quiet voice, peering through the small glass window in the door. It was old, and had long since lost it's translucency. Nerves fluttered in her stomach, and she glanced back at the team. "I can't see a damned thing in there, but it's quiet..."

Maybe a little too quiet.

Pyro was used to the change from Allison to Magma. And it made more sense to take on that form about now anyway. He kept close enough to feel the flame, but not take control of it yet.

Logan might get pissy if he started fidgeting with flame.

"Quiet like ghost ship quiet?" That really didn't bode well for them at all.

Kurt didn't like the silence before Saint John spoke up and he liked it even less afterward. Instinct and a need to do something had him picking up Alli's shoes and pushing them into her backpack and then shouldering the whole thing; the straps were snugged up so that it wouldn't flop against his back. He glanced at her burning form and then at Saint John and Logan.

"Daylight is burning, friends."

But he said it in a whisper.
