[[Don't care what the posting order is! Just go!]]Talk about bad personal timing for a mission. Allison wrapped the parachute around and around itself, stuffing it in the backpack as quickly as she could. It was left near the clearing where the pick-up would be later, so if the people back at the base who dealt with the equipment felt like

Logan looked around his troops. Allison wouldn't have been his pick. Pyro, he didn't know that well, and Logan hoped the kid could hold his own in a fight. As for the last person - well... Logan didn't know what to make of him at all. So far, Kurt seemed more suited to host a children's show than to go into battle. Still, this was what Logan had to work with... and this would have to do. They could do it. With a bit of luck.
He sighed. OK, maybe a lot of luck.
"OK, here's what we do. We go in fast, and we go in silent. Anyone standing in our way won't be standing for long. You gotta do it, do it clean. And quiet." It was a coincidence that his eyes rested on Allison at that moment. Honestly.
"I go first. Teleporter gets the rear guard." He looked around to make sure everyone was on the same page, then turned around and started moving, not quite running but keeping a quick pace. "Let's go."

The lab was about a mile off, and it was rumored to have guards positioned in the forest outside. She kept herself as alert as she could as her mind wandered. It was probably a bad idea that she was on a mission at all, but she was trying hard not to let it effect her performance on the team. She'd come to this team to make some kind of difference (though, what being trapped inside a compound in Russia was really accomplishing she'd yet to see) and she was determined to make it work.
With or without Manuel.
She focused ahead of her, keeping behind Logan as best she could with Pyro and Kurt close behind.

He still followed Alli when they moved off, keeping his mouth shut he just did as he was told, at least confident in his team mates.
He was thankful for the years on the run that at least let him keep up. Lighter in hand, he stuck close to Allison in case.

He nodded at Logan's remark about being the rear-guard and tried to keep his Very Serious Mission face well put. He fell in behind Saint John; it was easy to keep up with the loping pace, he wasn't likely to be even hard pressed the way they were going now. Despite his excitement and inexperience, Kurt was determined not to be the weak link. He kept his slightly heightened senses on alert as they made their way through the trees. He might not have been prepared to kill anyone, certainly not, but Kurt had other ways to stop enemies.

"Fuck," she said under her breath, looking behind her to Kurt and Pyro. She really didn't want to change all the way out here. It'd make getting into the building a hell of a lot harder, and she damned well wasn't about to wander around naked.
If she had to, she had to. But she didn't like the idea. As Logan took off, Allison made for cover behind one of the larger trees, weighing her options. She was useless for more than a little ground tremor in this form. One thing she could do was just change a little. She stripped off her bag and coat, tugging her sleeves up her arms to her elbows. With careful focus, she let her skin shift on her fingers, letting it inch up past her wrists.
A rustling to her right drew her attention away, and Allison brought her hands within a few inches of each other, building up flame adding heat into it, carefully focusing on not lighting up anywhere else. She split the flame between her hands, drawing out from behind the tree. She looked for Kurt and Pyro, jerking her chin toward the right.

Although hiding behind a tree sort of felt really damn stupid. He felt the creation of Allison's flame before he saw it, that small tug that told him there was source nearby, and his lighter thrummed like a heavy weight in his hand.
Catching Allison's movement, Pyro nodded, glancing around to find Logan to see just what the fuck their team leader was doing, before looking back for Kurt.
God, he hated missions.

"Stick with Alli," Kurt said under his breath to his friend. Alli would be covered that way and Saint John would have fire. He would go after their leader. Kurt took off at a run, a well-placed teleport nearly catching up the distance he had lost so that he was flanking Logan.

Logan's lip curled into a snarl as he glared, and if it wasn't for the situation they were in, he'd have told Kurt just how stupid that had been. Then his eyes suddenly widened and he threw himself at Kurt, knocking him to the ground just before a single shot sounded, hitting a nearby tree.

She sparked the flames surrounding her hands even hotter, until they were white, roiling flames, then brought her hands together, focusing the flames back into a ball between her hands. She shot the heat blast off toward the footsteps, then stepped back, letting Pyro take over control of the flame.
"GO JUICE BOX!"

He had to at least try and keep track on where Logan and Kurt were, on keeping control of it as he pushed it further and further through the trees and around them. Everything lit up like a tinder box. Snow melting, trees burning, flesh blistering.
Sure, kill or be killed. Elimination mission.
It was still the first time he'd ever killed anyone [maybe, since who knew about Evan] and he felt that heavy in his chest. "Quit with the Juice Box," he muttered, even if he didn't mean it at all.

Instead of what? That had been a rookie mistake. And, with the glare that he got, Kurt was determined to make it his last. "I'm sorry," he whispered, "I didn't think--"
Logan's weight knocked the breath out of him. Kurt blinked up at the white sky and wondered if it wasn't just his week to be tackled. The quiet impact of metal on tree turned his attention as a few splinters drifted down from where their heads had been. Kurt looked at Logan. "I will cover from above."
Bamf.
Kurt sat high in the trees a second later, scanning the ground below. One hand raised to touch his earpiece. "Two on your twelve, Logan." He narrowed his eyes. "50 meters."

What exactly Kurt planned to do in the trees, Logan didn't know and didn't care. He was more than happy just to have the teleporter out of his way - and then the instructions came. It might have irked him, but it didn't. Logan's senses could tell him a lot, but they required focus, and going on what Kurt was telling him (somehow, in spite of everything, it never occurred to Logan to doubt what Kurt was saying) was simply faster.
Zigzagging through the trees for cover, Logan ran at the enemy as fast as he could. He roared as he threw himself on the first man, burying his claws in the guy's stomach. The body fell to the ground the moment Logan pulled his hand back. Their second assailant barely got a chance to aim his gun at Logan before his arm was pushed aside, bone claws digging an extra couple of breathing holes in the man's neck. Somehow, they didn't help.
Logan smelled the fire just before he saw it; felt it not long after that. It was spreading fast, and he doubted it was accidental. So much for a stealthy approach.
"Enough with the fireworks," he ordered, touching his earpiece. "Team assemble so we can go in. You, bluebird." His eyes searched for Kurt up in the trees. "Get 'em over here."
They didn't need to be teleported in, but Kurt could at least show them where Logan was.

"And I'll stop calling you Juice Box when I see you drink a beer!" Allison called back over her shoulder, unable to help the jab. With her attention on John, she didn't notice Kurt had teleported into her path, and she ran headlong into him. She stumbled back, then looked at him, cocking her head to the side. "We good to get the fuck into that lab?"

He'd followed after her, but remained standing when she'd decided to run into Kurt. Pyro wouldn't be surprised if Kurt was covered in purplish-blue bruises tomorrow under that image. "I'll pass on the alcoholic tendencies thanks." He muttered under his breath, waiting for whoever to give whatever order.

His stomach--already unsettled a little by the swift deaths that Logan had granted the other guards--turned. Kurt averted his eyes quickly, actually shifting to put his back to the sight.
Funny how things had gotten real very quickly. Kurt told himself that he would not kill anyone. He refused. They could punish him how they saw fit. For now, however he left that to himself and held out his hands to Alli and John. They had both teleported with him enough that once would not make them too sick and would be faster.
"We are good. Logan is waiting."
