There weren't many places Molly felt perfectly relaxed in Russia and with everything that had been going on lately, that was all Molly wanted. To be able to just relax and not think about all of the violence and deaths going on ( Read more... )

John had been suitably concerned over the rumours that he had overheard around camp, nothing in concrete as of yet of course but the notice from Stryker only made him feel worse. He'd go see Victor eventually, but he'd wait till he knew there'd be no guards around.

Not that John was one for breaking the rules but he just didn't know what to make of the whole situation. So of course when in a crisis he had only a few options to help focus his mind; talk to Fred & Bradley, spar with someone, read or cook. Well he'd decided that laying his worries on his friends was never a smart thing to do without having some kind of peace offering so John headed into the kitchen. Where of course he found his favourite red head.

"Should you be handling a sharp weapon like that? Pretty lady like yourself should have someone to do the dirty work for you."

Molly had been attempting to slice carrots evenly, half tempted to take Laura up on her offer even though the girl did say it was a joke. When she heard John, she was smart enough to put the knife down before turning with a grin.

"I wouldn't call these knives sharp anymore, Jon. They're overused. We either need new ones or a chance to go to town to get them repaired." Did we mention that speaking to trusted friends also helped with her stress? Because it did. "Besides, if anyone else tried to do something I set out to do myself, I'd probably get a little annoyed and hover over them. No one wants that."

"We don't need to go to town at all, hang on." He vanished without further warning and reappeared a few minutes, holding a steel in one hand and smiling brightly.

"Got this off of Wade, he seemed more than willin' to lend it as long as we saved him a sizeable first portion of your cookin'. I've not done it in a while but I'm sure I can at least improve it till we get them sent into town."

John held out his hand as he leant against the counter, setting the steel upright and gripping it tightly.

"You can hover around an' warn me incase I slice my fingers or anythin' alright?"

Molly waited patiently for John to return, sorting through the knives and finding a few that were actually tolerable when it came to how sharp they were. They could still be used, in her opinion.

When John returned, Molly glanced at the steel in his hand with a grin.

"I'll make extra, then," she stated. "And I'll warn you should your fingers be in any sort of danger though I doubt I'll have to. You're almost as good as I am in the kitchen." She was teasing John. They were quite the team in the kitchen, their own separate strengths and weaknesses meshing perfectly when it came time to cook anything.
