My Poker Face... [see description!]

The garage had been commandeered for the night. It was a Friday night, cold as hell, and damned if Manuel didn't feel like celebrating. He'd taken the two decks of cards he'd found as well as several bottles of vodka from Allison's stash and made his way into the rec room, setting up two tables with six chairs each. Six people to be dealt in to ( Read more... )

Allison exhaled the drag she'd taken from her cigarette, raising a brow at Manuel as he called her. She had a Jack high flush; she could be beaten by 3 cards. Her odds were good.

"Eat it, baby." She flipped her two cards, grinning at Manuel the entire time. Confidence radiated off her, since she was about ninety percent sure she'd just taken it from him.

She took a shot of vodka, pouring herself another and knocking it back too, waiting to see Manuel's cards, along with those at the table still in the hand.

While he wasn't totally up to speed on the game -which he blamed entirely on ignorance, St John had enough sense to know a shit hand when he held it.

"Bollocks to you both." He turned both cards in his hand face down on the table, pulling out.

The only reason he was even there was to try and relax. Easy enough with the crowd. Although he was breaking one of his rules. He plopped his elbows on the table, chin in his hands and waited for the others to go.

Amanda winced. She only had a pair. Thankfully, days in the circus had made it so that she knew how to play any manner of card games. She slapped her cards onto the table and sighed, giving a soft laugh.

"I'm out." she leaned back in her chair, tipping back a shot of vodka with a small wince and a huff.

Ric smirked a little as both Pyro and Amanda gave in, he checked his cards once more. Ric really didn't have a great hand and he knew better than to crash and burn too soon so he placed his cards down on the table and pushed them away.

"Fold." He was smiling as he spoke, his hands moving to the bottle of vodka beside him and, not bothering with a glass, he knocked back a mouthful straight from the bottle.

Sean smirked back at his brother over his shoulder before he reached over and flipped a card face up. Damn, a Queen. Might have been good for anyone who had queens or other face cards in their hand. Needless to say, he didn't have a single face showing in his hand, not that it was a bad hand. Chewing on a toothpick, he reached over for a chip and tossed it in.

"Right. Next?"

Ophelia knew nothing about cards. At all. Other than the Jack of Aces that was stitched onto one of her boots back in her room. She just liked the design though.

But she'd come along -because Ric was there and she always enjoyed feeding off of any of those emotions.

Without even looking, she tossed in a chip, figuring it was the done thing, and grinned. "Along a line, we're all fine."

Mark had wandered in, following Ric. Seeing his table was full, he hopped over to the next one, where a good-looking fellow and Ophelia had cards.

He had never played poker, hell, he had never played cards before in his life, but there was a first time for everything. Martini glanced at the cards he had been given, pushing in about half his chips. "So, what's the point here?"

Sean raised an eyebrow at the bet and he chuckled, shrugging his shoulders. "Point is to make the best hand out o'yer two cards and the cards on the table."

Looking at the bet, he shook his head. "Too rich f'my blood. I'm out." He felt something ping him in the back of the head and he turned around to glare at his brother, snagging one of his chips off of the table and winging it back at him.
