My Poker Face... [see description!]

The garage had been commandeered for the night. It was a Friday night, cold as hell, and damned if Manuel didn't feel like celebrating. He'd taken the two decks of cards he'd found as well as several bottles of vodka from Allison's stash and made his way into the rec room, setting up two tables with six chairs each. Six people to be dealt in to ( Read more... )

Allison exhaled the drag she'd taken from her cigarette, raising a brow at Manuel as he called her. She had a Jack high flush; she could be beaten by 3 cards. Her odds were good.

"Eat it, baby." She flipped her two cards, grinning at Manuel the entire time. Confidence radiated off her, since she was about ninety percent sure she'd just taken it from him.

She took a shot of vodka, pouring herself another and knocking it back too, waiting to see Manuel's cards, along with those at the table still in the hand.

While he wasn't totally up to speed on the game -which he blamed entirely on ignorance, St John had enough sense to know a shit hand when he held it.

"Bollocks to you both." He turned both cards in his hand face down on the table, pulling out.

The only reason he was even there was to try and relax. Easy enough with the crowd. Although he was breaking one of his rules. He plopped his elbows on the table, chin in his hands and waited for the others to go.

Amanda winced. She only had a pair. Thankfully, days in the circus had made it so that she knew how to play any manner of card games. She slapped her cards onto the table and sighed, giving a soft laugh.

"I'm out." she leaned back in her chair, tipping back a shot of vodka with a small wince and a huff.

Ric smirked a little as both Pyro and Amanda gave in, he checked his cards once more. Ric really didn't have a great hand and he knew better than to crash and burn too soon so he placed his cards down on the table and pushed them away.

"Fold." He was smiling as he spoke, his hands moving to the bottle of vodka beside him and, not bothering with a glass, he knocked back a mouthful straight from the bottle.

Tom had folded in his two cards before anything was even dealt, so he had been occupying his time taunting Manuel and Ric for their Latin heritage. He'd decided that Ric was going to be called Beaner from now on, and Manuel was Taco Bender.

Not that he had anything against either one; it was just funny.

"Aye, up to you now, Taco B." He grinned at him, then charged up a poker chip and whipped it at Sean's head.

Manuel shot Tom a dirty look, though there was really no heat behind it. He knew the man was just having fun and it was causing Manuel to chuckle quite a bit. He knocked back a shot of vodka and another, just as Allison had, and he refilled their shots.

Laying down his cards, he smirked. "Guess I lose this one. C'mere." he leaned in and slid his arm around Allison, giving her a long kiss. She won the hand, so she got her due.

"Next deal. Sparky, you're up."

She raised her eyebrows expectantly at Manuel as the table folded around her, then grinned and laughed when he folded to her too. "Woo!" She leaned in and kissed him for a long moment, smiling against his mouth. When they broke apart, she rocked back and forth excitedly, leaning across the table to collect her winnings: $20, a pair of socks, and a bag of M&M's.

She took the cards from Manuel and shuffled them a few times, then dealt out two cards to everyone. She then took a huge slug from her bottle of vodka, smirked, and grinned at Pyro.

"You're up, kid. You in, or fold?"

He just shook his head, a faint smirk on his face. "Can it with the kid, Magma." Although there was no real seriousness in it.

"I'm in." And he tossed in his bet, why not just roll with it. Simple enough.

Looking at her cards, a pleased buzzed feeling running through her, she glanced at Pyro and then smirked. There was a nice feeling of camaraderie here and she was enjoying herself. She took another drink and then nodded.

"I'm in as well." she slid in her bet, leaning back in her seat.

"I'm in too." Ric flicked the chips in and leant back in his seat.

Now this was a better hand at least, Ric knocked back a large gulp of vodka trying to not be too distracted by Martini being at the other table but failing miserably, his gaze flitting across to try and see how he was doing.

He glanced at Tom wondering how someone could come up with infuriatingly entertaining nicknames.

Tom beamed at Ric when he glanced over at him, nodding quickly. "I'm in too, then." He matched the bet, even though his cards were complete shit.

The chip Sean had thrown at him glanced off his forehead, and he winced, his hand moving to rub the spot. "OI FUCKSTICK!" He snapped a chip at his brother, then grinned at the table. "When d'we plan on the naked startin'?"

Well now, this was getting interesting. No folds. Manuel smirked at Tom and the shrugged his shoulder. "You know, if there were more girls at this table, I'd suggest everyone losing an article of clothing if they lose this hand."

He nodded and slid in his own bet, cash this time, before knocking back a shot and shuddering. "Alright, I'm in. Let's do this."

Allison grinned at Tom, then Manuel, the deck of cards in her hand and ready to deal. She was feeling the vodka, and the horrific chill of the garage was suddenly a stifling heat.

"More girls, pfft." She tossed in her own bet, then shed her jacket and smirked. After that was done and her coat was draped over the back of her chair, she pulled the chips to the side, dealing out three cards. She laid the face up on the table. A king of hearts, 3 of diamonds, and an 8 of diamonds showed.

"Pyro!" She grinned at her firestarter buddy, then lit a new cigarette before offering the pack around.

"Magma!" He said back, eyes not leaving his cards as he threw in another couple of chips and a bill.

"If someone had mentioned the strip element, I would've wore more clothes." He would've put on his entire wardrobe just for the occasion, even if he did get far too hot. "Alright, 'Manda?"

Her cheeks turned pink and she laughed. The liquor was coursing in her system a little too strongly for her to feel too embarrassed by the strip element so she glanced at Pyro and snickered. "Ja, though I suppose if it comes to it I can always shift more clothes on..."

She was going to have to. Glancing at Allison, then the others, she sighed. "I fold."

Ric was mildly distracted by the fact that Martini was actually admitting that he didn't know the value of the cards in the middle of a poker game. He sighed and then realised it was his turn, he flustered for a moment staring at his cards and then pushing in chips to match Pyro and then raising it with his own money.

"Raise... hang on stripping? Sorry did you say strip poker?" He grinned brightly at that suggestion.
