[[OOC: Return post for the mission Logan, Kat, Allison, and Laura were on, which is here]]

The mission had gone decently well, except for one major snag. The intangible one, who managed to jump out a plane without a chute, got shot. How it had happened, no one was quite clear. Kat had managed to keep the warhead from exploding, and Allison had ( Read more... )

The entire ride back Kat had been swearing up a storm. She wasn't happy about being shot (who would be) and while she didn't seem to be in any dire danger, it still hurt like a bitch and a half. She limped out towards the medical cart the med team had set up and she groaned as she all but fell onto it.

"Just get this patched up. I'll heal." she grunted, her voice thick with pain, the left side of her clothing soaked in blood.

Logan had been so on edge about Kat being hurt, the flight almost hadn't bothered him. Almost. He didn't feel completely responsible for Kat getting shot - hell, these things happened - but it had still happened on his mission, and he wasn't happy about that.

He wasn't sure what the hell had happened. People's mutations didn't suddenly stop working - so why had Kat's? She'd live (with her safely back here, Logan was convinced of that), but they'd need to find out what had gone wrong - what was still going wrong. They couldn't have this happen the next time Kat went on a mission - and if she'd somehow lost her mutation altogether, Logan didn't want her here, with people like Victor to worry about. It was too dangerous.

He followed the cart to the med bay, and then he couldn't do any more. At least she was still alive. He should probably be thankful it hadn't been any worse.

Kat grimaced as they wheeled her towards the medbay, still swearing under her breath. She'd learned how to from the military men she'd spent the last eleven years of her life with, so needless to say, she was getting creative.

Glancing over at Logan as they walked her towards Med Bay, she snorted softly, tapping her bracelet with a wince. "Shouldn't have gotten shot. This thing? Keeps me solid when I can't. Can be turned on and off by remote too..."

He remembered her saying something about that bracelet before, but... turning it on and off by remote? Just what was she suggesting?

"Wait -..." Logan grabbed the cart, stopping it, ignoring the pissed off looks he was getting from the medical staff. "You saying they blocked your mutation?"
