((Mission for Allison, Kat, Laura, and Logan. OOC thread for discussion is here.
Suggested posting order: first come first serve, then stick to that order.))Envelopes marked 'confidential' were never a good sign. Even less so when they were also marked 'urgent'. Logan sat down on his bed before reluctantly tearing the envelope open. A mission. ( Read more... )

Allison was glad to receive summons for a mission. A - it meant getting the hell out of the compound for awhile, and not just outside; B - it meant clearing her head of all the Manuel crap. That second part was a driving force as to why she currently looked like she was going to twitch herself right off the transport.

She needed to get down there, do her distraction thing, let off some steam, and figure out how long it would take her to pack her shit when she got back.

Under one hand was a silver, flame retardant blanket that she was going to have nearby for when all was said and done, and under the other was a spare uniform. Once they got on the ground, Allison needed a cigarette.

At least the bad mood was keeping her quiet, right?

Kat made her way to the garage, having actually slept the night before. It had surprised her, falling into such a deep sleep, but she'd welcomed it. She hadn't talked to Wisdom for the day, still being pissed at him, and she walked through the all into the garage with a smile as she spotted Logan and Allison.

"Hey. We doing this thing?" she was antsy and nervy, eager to go on her first mission with an actual team.

Laura arrived shortly after Kat, eying the new faces a bit warily and taking a slight step closer to her twin. Why hadn't she had time to at least get to know her mission partners? She tried not to frown at the idea of working with people that she knew next to nothing about, even casting a brief glance at her genetic twin for some kind of reassurance. He didn't seem too bothered by it but that didn't help X23 all that much.

She simply waited by the vehicle, watching the group.

Logan waited for everyone to arrive at the garage, barely acknowledging their presence when they did. Only Laura got a little nod, since something seemed to be off. She almost seemed nervous, but it couldn't be that; she was quite literally made for this sort of thing, much as Logan hated to think about it.

"Let's do this."

In a few short sentences, he repeated their mission brief, stated his plans for doing what they'd have to do, and explained the rough timeline they'd have to follow. He also repeated the instructions that there would be necessary violence only, looking pointedly at Allison when he said it.

Normally, this sort of thing would have been done on the plane, where it couldn't be overheard - but there lay the problem. Once they got on the plane, Logan wasn't in the mood for talking. He actually managed to squeeze out a monosyllable here and there, but that was it. One of these days, he should really get used to planes. But this was not that day. Parachuting down was almost a relief.

Allison was prepping herself to dart into the open, but she had to get ready first. The watch she'd just removed from her wrist and tucked into her shoes (which she'd removed to avoid having to be barefoot for the rest of the damned mission) beeped quietly, indicating it was go time ( ... )
