Challenge 10a: TEAM Header Discussion

Remember when I said Challenge 10 was going to be a little different? Well, this is what I meant by different. For this challenge, the objective is to do what we did for Challenge 4 with the Header Images.

Alyse thought it would be a good idea to have a 2-3 day discussion first to see if you guys want to do more than just a Header.

So what say you?

I am up for keeping it simple, but that's because things are hectic for me right now. Voting is good, majority rules.

Your work won't be anything more than a Header, if that. The only "mandatory" thing I would say for this challenge is the Header/participation. Everything else is just a bonus.

Meaning, if we get the Headers finished (and Alyse has this awesome idea to use them all and have them rotate) then no one needs to worry about this challenge any longer, especially if they've participated. Whoever is left and wants to give Team Seeker a complete head-to-toe makeover, they can have at it.

Maybe we can just do it like a regular challenge inside the team:
Objective: make a team header
Deadline: *whenever*
then everyone on the team can vote for the one they like and who wins gets their header displayed..

OR if anyones interested in making a theme then ppl can either sign up to make a theme or header and everyone can vote..

I think we should vote for the top 3 then vote again and pick one of those 3 but idk if that might get to complicated but it would give a lot of opportunities to participate..
Maybe we should take a vote on what to do.. lol im just rambling on..

This WILL be a challenge in Team like any other challenge outside of it. That is how it will basically be ran, we just thought it would be a good idea to allow you guys to decide for yourselves how much work there is to be done.

For the 200 points, and to complete this task, we would need to have the Header in use. Now, Alyse has this idea to rotate the Header so that it eliminates competition in the area of voting. We can substitute this discussion as participation OR for those who are willing to just be a little more adventurous and willingly stick around even after our original mission is complete, voting can be used for deciding our new theme and layout.

oO rotating header, I like that idea.. I like all these ideas.. I'm in for making TR header and voting for layouts/themes :D

You don't have to have voting. We can run it as either a competition or participation (I think the PM is badly worded, but certainly that's what we'd discussed). The only thing is that voting does count as participation, but then so does discussion.

And we can have voting on a theme rather than headers, if people are tired of the competition element ::g::

Personally, I'd kind of like a clean slate (and put links on the main page, omg! like to tags and edit and stuff instead of having to click on the entry and *then* do it!).

We can even do the whole rotating header thing if more than one person would like to make one. My suggestion (and it's only a suggestion ::g::) is that we start by selecting a theme - whether that's a colour theme or an action adventure theme or what. Then vote on a winning theme, then decide which layout we would like etc.

Rotating header! I love that, haha. I used to wonder why your header changed every time I would stalk fic. I think I refresh for my own amusement of "what's next?!" I like this idea, :) *Unless by rotation you mean to keep switching them out every so often.*

As for the voting, that works. I just figured with how bad our participation has been, we need all the options we can get ._.; I'd hate to start PMing people again!

From what's being said so far, the majority don't want a clean slate, but I would be more than happy to help you and anyone else who is for it come up with a whole new layout of sorts (even though I am NO good with coding profiles.). - That is, if no one else want's to do all the extra work. We only really need to have our new shiny Header in use as well as everyone to be participants in order to get the points... So if we have all that done then we could work leisurely on reconstructing our lovely home <3

I agree, keep it simple. Everyone do a header, and we vote for which one. I kind of like the idea of having a theme(header), so maybe is that why you asked for our fave screenshots? O.o
